Happy to hear she's, almost, back to normal.
Have you thought about purchasing health insurance for her? Might come in handy for circumstances like this.

i actually grabbed a pamphlet at the hospital....seemed like it'd be a good idea. never really thought of it before. she's very healthy, but you never know what's gonna happen as i just learned

No, but one slipped in my backyard as a puppy and needed a hip replacement and another got bloat around 2yo.

It had rained and it was muddy, and she was running around and fell in such a way that she effed up her hip & needed a replacement.
sounds like negligence on your part
