Big mistake picking the Army ... worst of everything.

Consider anything else, even the Coast Guard.

And forget that Rambo Combat Arm's bull shit MOS. You're not 18 anymore bro.

I think college will only get you an E-3 unless of course you go to OCS.

Yes, very dumb.

Making decisions based on emotions is NEVER good. Looking any outside element as a solution to an internal problem you are having will get you nowhere fast.

If you have a degree you should go in as a second lieutenant

If you can handle the military, God bless you, join,

The military scares me more than Iraq.

I was drafted in 1969 could handle Viet Nam, but hated the Army.

ok, if you do anything, your ass better go army reserve or national guard.

why? because if you hate it, you won't be living it each and every day for the next 4-6 years. if you love the army lifestyle, you can always go active duty very easily. but if you hate it, you can never go active duty to guard/reserve until your enlistment is up.

go EOD (explosive ordnance disposal). they offer a $50,000 enlistment bonus, you learn the in's and out's of making and dismantling bombs/explosive, you earn a top secret security clearance, and you can get easily picked up for the local bomb squad once you get out.

you might get blown to shit, though.

definitely listen to the simple, short answers like GO FOR IT!

those are well-considered and will help you make the best possible choice.

I was in the Army from 82-85 and then back in for DS. 19k (M-1 Tanker) Although I had a GT of 144 I chose a combat MOS because I wanted to be outside, blow shit up, etc. I had 118 college hours and went in as an E-3 and made E-5 in 16 months. I don't regret it for a minute and wouldn't change a thing. Combat MOS's always tend to view support personnel as REMF's.....not fair but that's just the way it is.
