you absolutely can. If you have a home office. But, it's easier to just deduct things like your phone, internet, that new PC you bought, new printer, office supplies, mileage, etc. A good accountant can help direct you in those areas. Don't go to H&R Block. Try to get referrals from people.

Like I said, we were maxed out on the exemption allowances on W4's (9 is max for federal). CA state has no maximum, but I think we were 9 on it as well. Basically the only thing to do now is to go completely exempt on a couple paychecks.

No scam, all legal. I love our CPA. :) You own a home and have a kid, not to mention have a job that would allow you many other write offs. You should get a huge refund this year.

Yeah, I do have a home office. I'm definetly not going to H&R Block. I went there a few years back and had some ugly ass bish sit there texting her friends, and talking about the shit she had done that night before. Totally unprofessional.
