Bond's back in the news today

I still think they need to have an open league for each sport and see which prevails in the end, the current organizations or the new one. I think we all know which one is gonna win.

perjury.

You would think that WHAT you lie about makes a difference. Clinton lied about a blowjob, which makes him kind of a wuss, but it's not a breach of national security. But bureaucrates don't see logic, just rules.

Bonds is a greedy, obnoxious, pretentious, spoiled brat. The man had his chance to come clean yet he lied under oath in an efort to protect his reputation as the greatest slugger in mlb. Federal prosecutors offered him, like Jason Giambi, full immunity from prosecution for any possble steriod charges stemming from the BALCO investigation and yet he still denied he used the drugs.
In his December 2004 testimony to the grand jury he denied using any steroids provided by BALCO through his trainer Greg Anderson. Unfortunatley for Barry, Anderson kept meticulous records indicating what he was giving to Barry and when Barry was taking them. Anderson refused to testify against Bonds though, and had been sitting in prison on contempt of court charges. He was recently released and prosecutors felt they had enough on Barry without Anderson's testimony to prove he in fact did know he was taking steroids.
So they charged Barry for perjury and obstruction of justice for lying to the grand jury. He would have avoided all these legal troubles if he had just told the truth but no, Barry was far too concerned about Barry to let a federal investigation stand between him and the record books.
He had a choice; tell the truth in a court of law as any honorable and good citizen would, or, lie in an effort to preserve the future glory and riches breaking the all-time home run record will bring to him. Barry chose Barry and now he will pay for that choice.
Goodbye recordbooks, goodbye Hall of Fame, goodbye Barry. If he wasn't such a shit of a person I might have felt for the guy but I don't. I'm kinda happy to see it happen, it couldn't have happened to a better guy.

If anything because he commited perjury he should serve 6 months. Seriously taking roids and then not wanting to come clean about it isn't that bad of an offense. He also has to think about the kids that look up to him. I know he's a d*ck and has one of the worst attitudes in the world but even Pete Rose lied about betting on baseball. It's hard for anyone to tell the truth in that situation, hell Mcgwire, Palmerio and Sosa all lied and commited perjury to they should also do time not just Bonds. While if Bonds would've just came clean like Giambi I don't think he would have much problems now. I do feel bad for the guy cuz steroids aren't bad for you when taken under a physicians care or taken correctly. Of course over doing any kind of drug is not good for you but steroids get a bad rep from a few assholes who want to use the Roid Rage syndrome. There is no such thing, if you are usually aggressive in nature of course adding more power to you will give you more of a power trip. Steroids don't give Roid Rage, assholes who think the roids give them more power over someone else does. Its all mental, and I know many people that use and they'll all say the same thing. I used to have a bit of a rage problem and anyone can tell you (thanks to having a kid) I no longer do anymore. I was an asshole and didn't take steroids, but I know if I would've at that time in my life I would've been a bigger asshole cuz I would've thought I was tough shit. I really wish all steroid users could unite and have a national meeting of some sort and be on tv for the world to see. There are so many users that no one would ever suspect, and everyone tries to get out of getting in trouble by blaming something else, and in this case its mostly steroids. Oh well my rant is done. Go after the Cocaine and Heroine dealers, leave the steroid people alone!
