yes when dealing with water based gear (micronized suspension or winstrol) or pgf2a. I have used a 1/2" pin for oil based and did not like it...the oil lump that close to the surface is more apparent and does not move right when you flex the arm. I did bi and tri shots the beggining of my current tren cycle with 1 1/2 27g pin, stuck a little over 1" in (you do this by cutting an inch or so off the cap and putting it back on before the shot). If you go over 1" you can fit 1.5cc in there no problem, and the added size flexes naturally with the arm. I won't do oil based site injects with anything under 1" again...the results are just so much better.
btw the best spot to shoot is the outer head...less nerves there, and that is where the true peak is (look at pics of Robby Robinson).
