AS and DOMS

Crags

New member
Hi, I searched for a thread on this topic, but didn't find one specific... sorry for the newbie redundancy if it's already out there  .

I am now getting back into lifting/BB'ing after about 2 years off, largely b/c of bad issues with DOMS and gastroc spasms when doing squats. After just one workout now (chest, tris, upper back), all the muscles I worked have been seriously sore for over 3 days now, getting progressively worse. When I stopped training, it was b/c DOMS (esp in my legs) would last over a week and I wouldn't be able to workout the next planned time. I tried changing diet, vit/mins, AA supplements, H2O intake, etc., but nothing was helping, except a pussy workout session (like just 2-3 sets of 15-20 light reps for ea. muscle group).

Has anyone seen their DOMS time shorten (or go away) while on a cycle (I've never juiced, yet)? Or has it gotten worse?

Thanks a bunch for your help!

um bump I hope spomeoen can help you I have never heard of someone getting it this bad I know my chest kill and so do legs for 2-3 days and drain all my energy but assuming you have a reasonable tolerance for pain and just arent being for a lack of a better word a pussy I hope someone can help cause this sounds very wierd....AAS might help but i'd look for other solutions first...good luck

My DOMS nearly goes away when I'm on a cycle. A couple weeks post cycle I really feel the difference when the soreness returns.

Mkay, I'm a dumbass but what the hell are "DOMS".

Also, when you worked out in the past did you notice it going away after a while? Seems to me that everyone is sore when they first get back into it but that your recovery time speeds up after a few weeks.

mvmaxx, DOMS stands for Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness, what you (well, most people at least) get a day or two after heavy lifting with a muscle.

I had a feeling somebody was going to challenge my toughness (don't worry, no offense taken). The soreness (it's annoying but I don't know if I'd call it painful) doesn't bother me so much - I used to work out anyway if it wasn't gone by the time I wanted to hit that muscle again. Problem was, I'd have a bad (lower #s) workout no matter how hard I tried, and the harder I'd try, the worse I'd get afterwards (more DOMS, cumulative weight and strength losses). So, I just stopped working out until the DOMS was gone bacasue doing otherwise seemed counterproductive, but that was taking too long...

so me hardly being able to walk due to the excruciating front squats I did on Monday would qualify as DOMS then....kewl ;)

Anyway, that sounds very odd, no offense. The only thing I could offer up would be to make sure your diet looks good and you're getting enough H20, potassium, and vitamins ....although I'm sure you've already done that. I dunno man, go see a Dr and see what he/she says. Let us know.
