Any ideas for bulking on a 6$ a day budget?

10 dry cups oatmeal, $1.88 at super-walmart
1 ibs ground turkey (not lean) $.77 at super-walmart
brown rice, dirt cheap anywhere.
natural peanut butter, $1.89 per jar at kroger
swiss cheese, often on sale for $4.99 per 2 ibs at kroger

How in the hell are you eating fast food on a budget and making any gains? There is no reason you can't get 6000 cals and 400+ grams of protien on $6 a day, and eat nothing but clean unprocesed food.

Hey Finaplix! ThanX for the suggestions. I have one of those Foreman grills, so I used to cook allo my meat on that, Never really tried cooking ground turkey. Any suggestions? Also oats, aren they mostly carbs? ThanX again

Bulking properly on any budget requires planning and preparation, it's part of the game.

Just remember that there are no shortcuts to any place worth going.

Don't forget coupons. Many grocers have double coupon days every week. Make your 180 a month spend like 220-250.

now yur thinkun smartur, too.

i think the old Hannibal diet would work for you.... which is as i recall

a box of hamburger helper (you could get the store brand and save another 50 cents)

2lbs of ground beef

1 gallon of chocolate milk.

If you buy the beef in bulk you'll be at ~$6.

Yes, 1 ibs of thawed ground turkey takes 7 to 8 minutes on one of the larger george forman grills (I use it for up to 5 ibs of ground meat a day). ON the oats, a dry cup has about 9 grams of fat, 15 grams of protien, 110 grams of carbs and 16 grams of fiber, if I remember correctly. Eat 8 oz of turkey with it and toss in a tbs or two of natural peanut butter and call it a $.75 meal, high in protien, healthy fats, low gi carbs (the peanut butter will lower it a bit more if you mix it in) and fiber.
