another bad inj?

I posted once already about my last glute injection being very painful and getting black and blue. Well, this has dissapated and feels ok now. But now it's been 2 days since the other glute injection and I've got the same issue. There is no brusing, but it is swollen and hurts (lots of pain with the muscle in a knot)! Using std 23g,1" plenty of alcohol swabs, etc. Very sanitary envioment. I have done many, many shots over the years and this is the first I've had this, and twice in a row???
I am only 4 shots into cycle, first 2 were fine, now these last 2 are friggin ridiculous. The 1st 3 came out of 1 vial, then I switched to a new one just to eliminate that from the equation. My technique is'nt picture perfect, but it's always been fine.

I just read on a site familiar to most of us that injecting "too quickly" could possibly cause and abcess?

what would the mechanism for that be? and as far as I know I've never had anything like that, I'm sure that it must be pretty obvious when you have one, right?

any advice appreciated.

there is a big difference between being black and blue and having an abcess. an abcess is like a big zit: pus trapped underneath the skin as a result of an deep infection. pus is nothing but dead white blood cells.

the speed you poke yourself should not be a factor if you get an infection. either the area was contaminated or it was not.

I don't see a relation there either, but I am at a loss for the difference between these last to inj and all others. Here is an excerpt from the info site i was referring to:

*If all is well you may begin injecting. Push in slowly - you will come to find that you can 'listen' to your body and it will let you know how much it is willing to receive at once - when I inject myself I apply consistent pressure to the plunger but I go in only as fast or slow as my muscle wants to at that time. Going too fast will potentially result in an abscess[/B]. When you have completed this, wait a few seconds and then pull out and take your alcohol swab and firmly press down and massage the site to make sure everything stays in the muscle and the massage will also prevent soreness in the morning. You may bleed just a little bit, so it helps to tape the alcohol soaked cotton ball to your injection site.

tren i know exactly what site you are referring to. :) you may be confusing the speed in which POKE yourself vs. the speed in which you INJECT yourself. i printed that out (my first injection will be this weekend) and i remember it saying to poke yourself quickly for less pain and inject yourself slowly and to listen to your body. (i may be complaining about the same things as you in a few days).

Man, for your sake I really hope not! I'm walking around the office like a gimp and explaining that I pulled a muscle to everybody :)

I really don't know why these last 2 have been so different, but I've had many and they were fine so I'm sure you'll be fine.

Just a theory, but if you are adding say 3cc of oil to muscle, the muscle will have to expand to compensate for the additional volume. If added to quickly could this cause bruising? I personally take at least 30 seconds to push 3cc.

Well, I'm going to go Slooooooowwwwwwww next time for sure, then if it happens again I will have removed that from the equation as well. I will be more than a little concerned if this happens again, I mean something just does not feel right.

Also heating the oil first makes it go much smoother for me. Twice I didn't preheat, as was left with bruises. It happens to all of us sooner or later.
