625x5 Deadlift At Age 18 . . . we should all quit

Impressive lift but I don't think you can call that a raw lift with those straps.

Straps make all the difference in the world. I used to not be able to deadlift shit. Now I can do 420x5. The bones of in my wrists just can't hold the bar. I don't see what the problem is with using straps. My goal is go gain as much weight as possible, so using straps allows me to lift more weight and to stimulate more muscle fibers by doing so.

it is all good using straps. however, powerlifting-technically speaking it is not
considered a raw lift using any training gear (straps, wraps, shirts, suits). at
least that's what I think...
I like the one comment on youtube that says he shouldnt just drop the weight
b/c it leads to injuries

Part of deadlifting is strengthening your grip to hold the bar without assistance from straps thus developing the forearms also. I don't have anything against straps per se. They have their place.

I think some people rather be powerful and strong rather than a disco bodybuilder. JMHO

Hey it's my opinion, take it for what it's worth. I'm a bodybuilder, not a powerlifter. From my perspective, this is not that impressive. What is impressive is the 4% bodyfat physique that is sported at a contest after months of grueling dieting, cardio, and busting your ass with weights on low carbs. But again, that's my perspective. There's always gonna be a new youtube flick with some 25+% bf powerlifter deadlifting/squatting/benching more than the last. So you watch it, ooooh and aaaah it, and be done with it. But when you look at an actual physique that was built by around the clock dedication to proportionate muscle mass, diet, conditioning, and discipline, it's a work of art.

BTW, wtf is a disco bodybuilder??

I understand where your coming from. I would rather much be at 181 @ 10% BF and pulling 520 like i am, then look like that and pull that much weight....

i like the feeling of someone looking at you and going, wow yea looks strong as shit...

not oh man your fat, and he has to say " but bro i deadlift 600+"

But i cannot take ANYTHING away from him at all, that strong bastard. lol

In regards to the straps issue, I used to have all kinds of grip issues and could not hold the bar effectively for 5 rep sets. However, after getting a nice Ivanko bar with DEEP churning and some chalk, all the grip issues dissapeared.

Watching that video makes me think i'm not training hard enough. Pulling his 1st rep looks as hard as I try when pulling my 1RM.

Yeah PB what the hell were you thinking posting this junk? Go back to youtube and find us a vid of a jacked up 175lber pulling 3 plates with a flat back and no straps.
