Best time of year to get best deal on gym membership

Economically waiting until new year makes no sense because all of the new people joining should mean they dont have to give anyone a good deal (supply and demand). December would seem a better time to join since no one is joining and the sales doods need to make quotas.
Unless im missing something about this industry that makes it defy traditional supply/demand logic?

They know that everyones going to be shopping between every gym in the area.

I say this as someone who was a sales manager at 24 hour fitness way back in the college days.

I would get on and join right now, today. Putting it off until January for whatever reason is just procrastinating and nothing good comes from going down that road, it will also make it harder to get on and go once you have put it off for a month.

get on and join rob, get into the habit of it and enjoy the last few weeks of December when most gym's are nice and quiet!

Do it now, I shopped around before joining and didnt find many deals.....just joined on Wednesday with husband.... waiting til Jan sucks because of all the noobs, doubt there will be any deals and it's already mid December so it really doesnt matter anymore...

I just had surgery rob, cant work out for at least another couple months. Just trying to lock in a great membership deal now if its the best time.

Find an underground/warehouse gym. Even if it costs a few duckets more per month the return will be worth it.

I absolutely hate my commercial gym and it's employees. "excuse me sir, you can't have chalk in here." in the middle of a fucking set of deadlifts. Shouldva seen his face when I dropped the weight from full lockout to ask him what he said.

theres a golds very close to me. the only old school dungeon type gym i know of around me is kinda far and would cost 3 times as much. not worth it. im not that hard core to use chalk and all that stuff that would be a problem in most big chains.
