Anabolics and diabetes

i know no that this is not the place to come for medical advice, but i thinking this might be a good first place to begin my investigation. Soooooo:

does anyone here have any good info about the use of anabolics for those who have diabetes?

my gf's father is an adult onset diabetic (he's not fat, but more likely genetic predisposition and stress factors brought it on)
was type 2, but more recently began taking injections to manage blood sugar so type 1 now.

he has been having lots of trouble keeping weight on and has lost 30-40 lbs over the course of the last 2-3yrs and still slipping slowly.

he's 62y 5'6" 130#

is the use of anabolics safe for the likes of him?

which kind?
what dosages?

thanks for any advice, and i will be sure to run it by a doctor first...

At age 62, let the doctors handle this. If his current doctor is not worried about him weighing 130lbs. and you are, then take him to another doctor.

Remember that AAS were made for the medical community for treatment, not for BBders. Your Father sounds like a great person for AAS that would be covered under his insurance. Doctor shop if you don't like the first answer - after all, that's why I'm still alive!!! Take care. Alan Chiras.

Probably just good old fashioned testosterone. :)

Given just his age I'd guess his endogenous T production would be low enough to warrant supplementation from an endocrinologist.

He may also recoup some skeletal muscle now that he's getting insulin shots. Insulin is very much an anabolic hormone and the (presumably) glucophage/metformin he was on as a Type II may not have been doing the job the last few years.

You may want to check out the information for diabetes by googling (is that a real word? LOL) "pH Miracle for Diabetes". Dr. Robert Young. Has some pretty amazing research and a scientifically documented reversal of diabetic symptoms in 2 Type 1 diabetic kids. All this without using drugs... I am using some of his ideas and have made a 100% difference in my life. Check it out, hope it helps your gf's dad.

Interesting, stuff, i think if i was his age and in same boat, id be on a permanent cycle as i wouldnt have to worry about fertility issues or care about side effects.

There are risks in using anabolic steroids in both
injectable or tablet form.... And if you
inject anabolic steroids and share needles, you are at
risk of getting blood transmitted infections such as
hepatitis B, hepatitis C or HIV/AIDS.

if hes losing weight that rapidly then def NO his blood suger levels are out of control if your levels are not kept stable you fail to process or abdorb any nutrients out of the food and its wasted you cant build muscle or live normally with out of control blood suger levels...... Steroids will only make things worse and the suger levels harder to control and regulate increasing in size and increasing of diet will require adjustments in insulin doses and will make it even harder if cant control them normally. Seek the advice of a doctor and find out why but i bet his control is way off mate.
