So im on week 9 of test/mast cycle. My bp was 140/100 3 times in a row, is this something to be concerned about?

1) I took ephedrine and caffeine 2x before taking my BP, could that have affected it?

2)
Im taking fish oil and a multi vitamin, what are some other supps I can take for healthy BP? I eat good 80% of the time. The other 20% of the time its popcorn, corn dogs, and lucky charms.

You're kidding, right?

140/100 is a train wreck. A diastolic pressure (the second one) over 90 qualifies you as hypertensive.

Go visit your doctor first thing tomorrow morning.

Well cant caffeine and even ephedrine alter the blood pressure? I dont have a doctor, but im picking up my form tmr that says my medicare was declined, so then i bring that form to a clinic and i can get to a doctor for cheap, like 40-50 bucks

Without medication for that, at least in the meantime stop any stimulant, sodium, salt, drink a lot of water, do cardio, take low dose aspirin.

Yeah I had my blood pressure taken for an ROTC physical and it was just over, but I had a bunch of caffeine and was super nervous. The have taken it again recently and the lower number was like 60, can't remember the upper. There are a ton of good vitamins for blood pressure. I think it could easily just be the caffeine though. Plus, that pressure is not that high. High for your age though...

For your age and body composition, that's sky high (assuming you look like your profile pic).

140/100 is more like what you'd see from a 50 year old guy who is 60lbs overweight.

I'm more concerned about your bottom number elevation than the top number.
Ephedrine and caffeine BOTH can have an impact on your blood pressure.

agreed. the systolic isnt what stood out, it was the diastolic. that is real high. might want to get a home monitor and keep a record for a few weeks.

do this plus get a wrist monitor and keep a close eye on it. do not screw around with your bp. if it goes down on its own then no need for the doc for this issue as long as it stays down.

id suggest you also clean up your diet.if seen how you eat and its bad. sometimes we can create serous problems without knowing it. there are no signs until its to late. keeping your focus on health will help a lot.

Moderate cardio drink lots of water and Take taurine,no more sodium, caffiene,no stims whatsoever.

RADAR

take it a few random times throughout the day, without the stims and see if how that changes things. You may be very sensitive to stims. If it doesnt come down, then its likely the cycle you are running. Like plunkey says, a guy like you should probably be a little lower than what we call "ideal." I wouldnt bother with the wrist monitors b/c they arent nearly as reliable as a brachial cuff.

If you want pm me and I will go way more in depth with you and answer any questions since it sounds like you wont be seeing a doc any time soon.

Fuck so no more ephedrine and caffeine

Dude forget about that shit. People is addicted these days to those fuckin stimulants. No, you don't need them. Be yourself. If you are healthy, have enough sleep, you don't need fuckin stimulants.

Yea youre right I was mainly taking it for fat loss and energy, but i want to be healthy first. What are some pre w/o stuff i can take that wont affect my bp?

Well make sure first to get on top of the BP issue first. After your BP is in the normal ranges, then worry about pre w/o supps.

The only thing I can think of, is Amp02. It has caffeine but in low amounts.

Forgot to mention, eat high potassium foods. Bananas, raisins. Potassium helps to lower bp.

where can you go to a store and buy one of those that actually fits?

my doctor is the one who advised me to but the wrist model from the drug store.

hom much difference are we talking? and is this something your sure of?

A cuff/stethescope measurement uses actual artery sounds.

An at-hom machine uses a vastly lass accurate oscillometric technique.

Potentially huge differences.

Now why would you take caffeine AND epherdrine before a blood pressure test? Thats like drinking liquor just before a breathalizer test. I personaly would go with T3 and Albuteral for trying to loose fat than those stimulants. Besides, I've noticed that if you are taking real ephedrine (ephedrine hydrochloride), not that "ephedra" crap they sell in vitamin shops, I tend to actually hold water, just like when you take a lot of amphetamines. It's also a vasoconstrictor so it shrinks things up a bit, just like amphetamines..

Well I didnt know i was gonna take the BP test until after i took the pills lol. IM taking bronkaid from the store which is ephedrine. Its not HCL its ephedrine though.

Im not gonna be taking these for a while, especially since im on cycle and i wanted to start beastdrol soon

lol now i feel safe to start the beastdrol. No way in hell I was gonna statr with 140/100

How inaccurate are the safeway blood pressure machines?

Possibly very inaccurate. I can't fit my arm into those fuckers. They are made for about a 14-15 inch arm. When I get my BP checked they have to use either an oversized adult cuff or a leg cuff for accurate reading. But, usually a cuff that is too small measures higher. So, sounds like you're ok there pip-squeak!

Did you PM Chris? If not you should have.

Stay off the stims too. I take it you were off the anadrol now since you are on week 9?

If you do start beastdrol, be damn sure to keep an eye on your BP.

haha hey hey I could barely fit my arm in there too! :D

I PM'd him he gave me good advice. I am 100% sure it was the ephedrine. Im not gonna mess with that stuff. the caffeine usually never gave me any problems but since im takin beastdrol in a couple days ill stay off that too.

Ive been off anadrol for 3 weeks. Ive been taking needtos forged liver, fish oil, multi vitamin every day on cycle. Also a gallon of water ED

Dude. I apologize if I sound rude, but I prefer to talk to you as a friend, as if I was talking to you in person.

Settle down. Stop being emotional, use reason. What is that "I feel safe now to start beastdrol". Are you fucking kidding me? just because you had a good read in one machine in one day?? dude stop. You don't mess with your heart. There are chances this was nothing and you are perfectly normal, but is better to not take any risk.

Keep checking your bp for a few days. Maybe 5-7 days. And of course stay away from those stimulant shit. If after 5-7 days bp stays normal, measured in different machines several times, then we can assume the stimulants were the cause of it mixed with anabolic steroids. Then you can plan on other things.

You guys with really big arms need leg cuffs -- ordered online.

the wrist model is okay if you get a good one. I just don't like how variable the readings are on some models if you dont have your arm positioned just right.

And yeah, Im sure. I'm pretty good at this stuff.

Glad -- I still wouldnt put a ton of salt into a safeway machine with larger than normal arms, but its good to see your numbers better.

Also, Bronchaid must be like Triamterene...If you are sensitive to stims, you're likely to be sens to this as well. Watch for palpitations racing heart rate and reflex hypotension.

lol at taking stims then doing bp...

Ya i know it sucks when youve looked forward to your cycle. I dont know if id throw anything else in there. I didnt liston to my body last cycle and im paying for it now. I still have high bp (mine was even alittle higher than yours on cycle) and i now have an enlarged liver that i have to get into check and i feel like shit all the time. Id keep doing consistant BP checks and actually cut things out to get it to stay half way descent unstead of throwning somthing in there.... (easier said than done huh? haha)

Honestly, you might not like this idea, but I would try adding some cardio onto your regime. That will help the blood pressure for sure. Even right after a long ass weight workout my blood pressure bottom number was only 66, so yeah 100 is pretty damn high, although you should keep monitoring it.

yea i gonna keep checking it all week and if by friday it has stayed down ill throw the beast/diesel in. Gonna watch the sodium and drink more water. Gonna add cardio as well. Not sure when to add it tho

Wow bro didnt realized it fucked u up like that, that sucks.. so ur off for a while huh?

yea definetly. Im gonna be doing light plyos and sprinting on tuesdays for football. Ill probably add some HIT 2x a week as well.

The weird thing is that about two years ago I went to the hospital with a searing headache and waited in emergency (!) for six hours before going for some tests only to have the "experts" declare it was nothing major. They gave me pain killers and sent me home. I was back the following night. Only four hours in emergency. Same thing. Finally my doctor was back from holidays a few days later. He was quick to diagnose high blood pressure. Similar to now but without the searing headaches this time. At that time he put me on blood pressure drugs. With my recent health crisis he considered it might help if I stopped my BP meds. I feel so lousy now! I checked my blood pressure twice to make sure it wasn't misread first. 140/100 give or take a digit. Google found your site. So I don't know. To those of you who don't know, it feels awful. I don't know whether to re-start my drugs or wait until my next appointment on September 14. Despite the nature of this forum I only approached it due to the nature of this question. I am not physically fit. 43 year old male, 5'1" about 160 pounds. The recommended efforts (cut back on salt etc.) haven't helped so I'm scouring the internet for insight. This message thread came to me via. Google.:rainbow:

im curious how he is doing now....hope he listened to all the guys giving great advice and concerned for him....thats cool of you guys on here....yea that BP is nothing to mess with....

Also for those of you downing stimulants....as I once did alot in my life for sports and lifting....besides messing with your heart, it also can lead or contribue to adrenal fatgue down the road...not good.....

glad love ya bud but I really hope you wised up or your OP was just parody.

corn dogs, popcorn, and lucky charms? you have the diet of a child, not a man. stay away from steroids and stimulants until you mature more or you will end up in the hospital or dead. I know people who have died young cause of stuff like this.

My BP at one time was 200/120, scared me half the death! Genetics plays a big role with high BP. My mothers was 260/220 (NO BS) the Doctors didn't know how she was still alive. Genetics, stresss are the biggest contributers to high BP. I know people who take over a gram of gear a week and stims everyday, and have low BP it all depends on the person. If your predisposed to medical problems all gear and stims will do is add fuel to the fire. My doctor said I'll be on BP meds the rest of my life it's just genetics. I take gear and stims with bp meds my BP is perfect...

sorry bro I cant agree. BP could be some genetic, but I would wager its more a product of poor lifestyle within a family. parents eat poorly, dont exercise.. I the children eat poorly and dont exercise... ever see fat parents at the supermarket and their fat kids? and then look at what is in their shopping cart? zero produce.. just processed junk and meat. are their kids fat cause of genetics or dont you think there is more to this story?

the genetic excuse is overrated IMO.. i know cause i used to be overweight and have high BP myself.. i had a choice, i can sit back and live like that forever and blame it on genetics, or i can change my lifestyle .

I have an entire family with high BP, diabetes, etc. EVERY SINGLE PERSON HAS IT. they blame it on genetics.. BULL. the food they eat is poor, zero exercise, what did they expect?

my bp even on cycle is 120/60. glucose is normal. its cause i exercise and eat right, they do not. and I have one of the most stressful jobs go figure. but I exercise everyday.. weights, tennis, running.. all that stress gets relieved.

those bp meds you are on forever are music to your doctors ears. thats what the doctor wants. he doesn't tell you eat right and exercise. no money for him without you buying drugs from him. I hope you re-evaluate things and get rid of the bp meds. my dad used to be on bp meds, he changed his lifestyle.. now at 65 he doesn't take anything, his BP is fine. funny what exercising everyday and eating more veggies can do

you

Well, bro must know more than a MD. My mother eats right and weighs 115lbs explain that one!
I'm in shape 9 months out of the year, explain that one!

my friend, if you mom is in great shape and eats great/exercises and STILL has blood pressure it could be due to stress, being worried all the time and other factors like that. but that wasn't the point of my post.

the point was to never trust a doctor EVER EVER EVER. always get multiple opinions. any drug they give you, dont fill it UNTIL you research it.

I know people who had cancer and the doc blew it off as nothing, only to find out TOO LATE it was indeed cancer. heck my X had back pain and went to 5 docs before she finally researched it on her own and found out she needed her gallbladder removed. i was given an antibiotic by a doc TWICE in a row when I damn well told them that I had a severe allergic reaction to it. 95% of them dont give a damn about you, just your money, thats a fact.

dont get defensive about my post. I am just telling you that docs want you on pills the rest of your life. he doesn't want to tell you to diet and exercise and reduce stress in ur life. heck I bet if you got off the BP meds and really cleaned up your diet 12 months out of the year and did some decent amount cardio your BP would come out just fine. but the doc doesn't want that to happen, he wants u going back for more candy every so often.

ask our resident doc "footdoc" who I wish lived close to me and I could go to about what he thinks about others in his profession, he will tell you the same thing I am saying. they are more worried about their golf/tennis match then they are about their patients.

I had my BP checked a doc and it came out 200 over 140 no joke. but here is the funny thing. it was one of those innacurate machines and my biceps didn't even fit. now imagine had the doc decided to write me a RX for high BP even though I dont have high BP, and I didn't say anything like so many others and just took the candy without knowing any different. I told them to use my forearm instead and the dumb nurse got a 120/70 reading. go figure. think the nurse cares more about writing down an accurate reading? had i not spoken up i would be on BP meds forever also. just giving you an insight as to what happens in the medical industry on a daily basis. all those old folks i see at the doctor are on 8 different pills cause they just take whatever candy the doc gives them without even researching what they are taking.

thankfully us younger folks have google

Sean, if your BP is still 140/100, you need to stay on the meds at the dose your doc prescribed until you meet with him again. If you are on your meds and still getting those readings, you need to call your doctor and let him know so he can see you sooner. Get that under control.

I agree, but I wasn't on the defense just wanted to see what you thought of that. Secondly, your right about how the cuff size matters that's why when i get my BP checked i say "big" cuff please!
Actually I'm off the meds because i cut out salt and added more cardio. I was just trying to let dude know BP is nothing to F*ck with....and there is some truth to some people are more genetically predisposed to high BP but you can counter it with diet and cardio.
