Ahhh, but do you notice the things he doesn't need? I'm not a "girlie" girl, not by any stretch of the imagination. I own exactly ONE pair of high heels that I've worn twice. I am not a clothes horse, I rarely wear makeup (I'm emotionally high maintenance, not materially), I like solitude and my cats (well, so does he), I am NOT house proud nor do I enjoy decorating or making a house pretty, in fact, I don't give a shit. I need it functional which means I have cardio equipment in the dining room (that I can move into the kitchen to create ritual space) and a basement full of weight training equipment. I also clean haphazardly at best and I literally have patio furniture in my living room (I live slightly like it's animal house ... the patio furniture is the wicker looking kind, it's pretty cat proof).
