my heart has been beating weird lately, been a few days in a row now. went to the er today, they ran an ekg and heart monitor, doc says nothing major. very common. thing is, my heart feels like it's doing backflips in my chest. i'm on no gear, never on caffine, ephedrine, any stimulant for that matter. i'm still going to the cardio specialist for 2nd opinion. supposed to start my 1st cycle in january, t-bol for 30 days, then follow up w/ routine pct then an 8 weeker var only.

kinda worried now though. anybody else have this problem with heart palptations?? you still on gear??

any advice would be helpful.

yes. i have heart problems. i get this feeling like my heart sticks for a sec then lets go, and then i get nauseuous. i have an old injury to my heart and i'm now susceptable to a certain type of bacteria, fatal to me. but yeah, i still use, prolly shouldn't........

Bro, if I had something, or thought something was wrong, or even thought for a second that something Could be wrong, I'd wait til you see a cardio or heart specialist before doing any gear, esp, if you have never done anything before! Use some common sense man. You can do steroids if your dead bro. think about it.

I used to have Premature Atrial Contraction as well as Premature Ventricular Contractions. I had a complete cardiac workup and was found to be in perfect health. I even passed the scrutiny of an FAA Aviation Medical Examiner for a 2nd class medical. They appeared during a very stressful time and have since gone away.

The PACs and PVCs will just bother the hell out of you. Everyone has them and its just a matter of whether or not you feel them. They are most likely harmless if not accompanied by other symptoms like shortness of breath or syncope (passing out).

I used to know mine intimately, so much that I could feel every detail of the beats. During a stress test I blew the nurse away by calling every one of my PACs and PVCs. She was amazed that I could tell the difference between the two just from the way they felt in my chest.

Some advice:

1) Avoid any caffeine and caffeine-containing products like chocolate
2) Avoid "vasoactive" foods. Aged cheeses, raspberries, avacodos, any preserved meats with nitrates, sulfates, MSG, etc, alcohol and other things. Your doctor can give you a list.
3) You might have a sensitive vagal nerve. Don't gulp down super cold beverages or foods. Do some research on the vagal nerve and arrhythmias.
4) Overeating can put pressure on the vagal nerve causing PVCs and PACs.
5) Emotions can set it off too. Try to be relaxed if you aren't already.
6) If you are having a bad attack of skipped beats don't panic - it won't kill you and panicking only makes it worse.
7) Clear your throat or cough very forcefully to make an attack of skipped beats go away. This puts pressure on your vagal nerve and sort of helps to reset things.
8) Watch your BP.\
9) Avoid simple carbs (you probably do this anyway)
10) Relax
11) Above all, make sure you follow up with the cardiologist. He will paint a complete picture for you through more tests. If you really want to make sure you get a complete battery of tests consider mentioning that you felt faint or light-headed. I'm assuming you didn't feel this way since you didn't mention it. That one symptom means a LOT when paired with the skipped beats and will get them to really look you over.

Chances are that if something was truly wrong with your heart you'd be dead or in deep shit right now so don't sweat it.

hey nuevo,
thanks bro. experience speaks for itself. it is very unnerving thats for sure. when you battled it did you have days on end or just certain times of the day?? currently, i've been feeling them for 3 days straight now. i'm not a drinker, nor do i do caffine. should be hearing from the specialists today. i did feel kinda high at one point yesterday. wasnt sure what it was from though. i appreciate the feedback and will post some results asap i know.

Just certain times a day, and not necessarily every day. They were usually caused by some stimulus like days of extreme stress, drinking coffee, drinking ice cold water, etc..

The really fun times were when I would get a run of them where it would be the mis-fired beat, the pause, two normal beats, then repeat the whole thing over and over in a regular pattern. These runs of skipped beats could be stopped by coughing very forcefully where I would double myself over and really kind of squeeze when I coughed.

If you want to do some research go to http://www.medhelp.org/, click on the heart section, agree to the terms, and then it will take you into an incredible discussion board sponsored by the Cleveland Clinic. Just spend a few hours reading and searching it and you will find some great info. I actually went to the Cleveland Clinic for my final assurance that everything is cool.

thanks bro, i will do plenty of reading there. seems crazy so many people deal with this but there is no real cause or effect. have you noticed any increase or decrease while "on". i just heard from the cardiologist, i'll be in the office in january. looks like i'll be postponing my cycle until final word.

I really don't get them anymore, either "on" or "off". I'll get one maybe once every three to six months. Few enough where I forget about it.
I could see how being "on" could aggravate it though due to the CNS stimulation and elevated BP.

Excellent idea to postpone. You want to make sur eyou dont really have something going on and you also want the doc to get a clear picture of what your body is doing without the influence of other things.

A buddy of mine was just diagnosed with PVC and we had a long talk about it the other day. The cardiologist said that it was not a mjor issue and it could have been caused by an allergic reation to something. This bro is about the cleanest eating person that I know of and he has only ever used tribulus and creatine. He stopped taking both but the doc said that if it was anything in the supplements then it was just probably a bad batch. The doc also told him that he only wanted him to rest for 1 week and then get back in the gym. The doc wanted him to get his heart rate up to a semi fast rythm over a period of time each day.

The bottom line is that the doc said it was no big issue.

seems to be the sentiment across the board. unless you've actually felt one before, it's very scary!! i will be seeing the cardiologist for reassurance but will continue on as planned. thank you for the experience you've had. k to you too!!
