Would you say Clean and press is the complete shoulder movement?

Would you say a muscle clean and press would be superior for shoulder development from a BBers standpoint compared to a standard clean and press?

From a BBer standpoint it's hard to say because most bodybuilders don't even do standing presses or cleans. The way i see it one completes the other regarding strength and functional size :artist:

LOL gotcha. Kinda hard not to swing with much weight on it though. Are you referring to the pelvic thrust he does at the bottom of the movement? It seems like that little pelvic thrust is part of the explosive nature of the movement especially since you aren't exploding from the floor in the traditional sense. The exercise looks cool but also looks kinda dagerous. I might give it a whirl this week for shits and giggles to see how it feels. I can do standing overhead presses with close to that weight but man picking it up from the waist and returning it to the waist seems to add a whole other world of hurt to the exercise. Maybe he's using his pelivis as a buffer? I don't know. Either way, I'll try it this week. :)

I dont feel danger at all when I do it. I can sense if something is going to hurt me. Like incline DB...I never do them (i do BB) I feel like its a shoulder injury waiting to happen. This feels perfectly safe to me. Just put a 25 on each side and fuck around with it to get the feel of the movement. honestly for me each full rep is like 4 reps. 1) the clean 2) the press 3) the negative 4) the return to waist. They will wear you out quick too I tell ya;)
Give it a go. Blasts the hell out of my shoulders. Great for the tris too. I do them on chest day. Right after flat DB and incline BB I move to these. Then my shoulders are blasted and my chest is toast and my tris are starting to get pumped and I move right into close grip BB press and press downs.

Yo that is a novel routine and sounds like fun for sure. I might just have to jack it from ya hee hee. I too hate incline DB presses especailly because of my shoulder issues. I tried to do them the other day and just about poo'ed myself in the process. Just too painful for my left shoulder. Nothing more embarassing than going from 4 plates on flat bench (hammer strength) to shitting yourself trying to do 100lbs db on incline. I almost left the damn gym.
