After all the gnashing of teeth over the Bush admin supposedly spying on US households, W had the nerve to nominate the very architect of the program as CIA chief, and Congress overwhelmingly approved the nomination.

Now the program has expanded, and will continue to expand.

Similarly, after all the whining and promises to cut the war in Iraq short after winning 06 elections, not only did the dems fail to pass a resolution at their all-night slumber party, they eventually overwhelmingly agreed to continue funding the war on W's terms-- and he is a lame duck president with low approval ratings!

It is in my family. Mayors, Senators, Assemblymen, City Councilmen, etc... I can only imangine what it is like on a national level...
 
You know I tried really hard to hate Obama. Because I usually side with the Republican party and because I don't like the pretty boy vibe he gives off. But he does say a few things I like that do show balls. Such as, and Im paraphrasing, "If we find out that there are terrorists in Pakistan and President Musharaff wont take action, we will". I kinda liked that

Early polls indicate that it will most likely be hillary.

They had John spencer go after her here in NY last year to see where she is weak and if she wins the Prime, she will get ABUSED! Trust me on that. She has A LOT of weak points and they all will come out when needed. Don't want to use them now cause it will loose its effect over a year but BOMBS AWAY ON HER!

(My Uncle is John Spencer. He was Mayor in Yonkers for 8 years and then the GOP asked him to run against her to find her weak points. She blew him away but it was just to test her out.)

The same qualities that men admire in other men, they criticize in women in power. The real problem is that most men can't handle a powerful woman, so they call her a "bitch." Every man I've talked to about Hillary who said she was a "bitch" couldn't name one valid reason why they disliked her. In short, they didn't have anything to say about her politics or her stance on issues. All that they had to say was that she was a "bitch" or a "lesbian" or whatever. I'm sure she won't lose any sleep over it when she is president.

You only said she is a "bitch" and are criticizing her because her husband had an affair and she didn't choose to make a huge public scene, but rather handled it in private.

the only way the repubs have a chance is if they run Ron Paul. Yeah, he doesn't appeal to the conservative right who refuse to abdicate moral authority over the rest of us........but they'd better come around before general election...........because Paul is the ONLY candidate who WILL pull votes from the left. Becuase the dem side isn't terribly strong either......I really do think Paul has a chance of winning the general despite his not doing so well right now. But they run anyone else, I swear I'll vote for Hillary over any one of those asshats! As long as Bill is behind the scenes and back in the white house........I'm down with that.

She voted for 08 for the past couple of years not for NY. Check out her voting record. Why do you like her, cause she is a women? Give me something more then that... All she has done is went to some meetings and made some votes. Rudy was a Mayor of a HUGE city, NY. He cleaned it up so much. He was hands on. I am not even going to play the 9/11 card but that took BALLS of steal to lead our City and our Country at that time. He was active in his day to day dealings. She just votes, when she shows up...

I think Hillary will have her own plans and agenda. That woman is too strong to be a puppet to her husband. I liked her husband, but I think she is her own woman.

The better question is..........do you? Do you REALLY think that people on the left are going to vote for a guy who has 9/11 on the brain 24/7? His entire campaign is based on 9/11........not that it's inconsequential.........but people on the left and people in the middle also want to know what is someone going to do about domestic issues.............not about who we're going to nuke tommorrow. So no, I don't think Rudy poody will pulling a whole lot of left votes............I'm not even sure anymore how many centrist votes he's going to pull now because he's been pretty much blown up as one trick pony. 8 years of direct experience while Bill was President.
8 years of foreign affairs conduct and contact.
8+ years of defeating every political obstacle in her path.

Who's got that experience? No one else. Rudy sure as hell will not pull FL. Even the local Repub groups down here are not favoring him. Rudy = lost cause.

Ron Paul is the only Rep I like. Hillary...I dont know, I like some things she says, but the issue with the Universal Health care is pissing me off about her. She used to have the idea for it to be just like in Europe and Canada and now she is turning a little bit different page. I like Kucinich and Gravel better

True, but you gave this no thought. A president only needs a majority of the electral college to win the election. What makes you think that hard core bible thumping one diminensional hicks outnumber black, women, gay, minority, liberal, and moderate voters? The latter categories will decide the election, not the hicks who you already know are gonna vote Republican no matter what.

tru statsically in Canada ( blacks and minorities very rarely vote) the voter turnout is very low.. It might be in the US or not im not sure.. Im going to say yes but i could be wrong. I would have to do some research.

But i have a strong feeling white turnout > minority turnout.

I'd agree that white turnout>minority turnout. But not all whites are conservatives. Whites can be liberals, gay, moderate, [insert other category that would be more likely to vote for Clinton/Obama]. Therefore, I think they could have a chance.

There's too many of them that are hung up on gay marriage and abortion to come to the austere conclusion that maybe there's more important issues going on with this country than what a woman does with her body and who people choose to love. If the conservative base can rally those people in the numbers they did in 2000 and 2004........they'll probably win again. HOPEFULLY, this next election proves that people are waking up and realizing that there's some shit going down.
 
I swear to God that the other day at my stepmother's family reunion some woman actually said that if Hillary wins it is a sign that of the apocalypse. She started quoting bible verses saying that when a woman won for American prez, the world would end within that president's term. Then she added, "well, either a woman or a queer."

Simply not true. Check the statistics. Add together female voters (who already outnumber men voters according to some exit polls) and add in minorities as well as liberals and moderates (who make up nearly half of the voters as well). It's not even close.

But anyways the biggest determinents of your vote are Party and Key Issues. The candidates already know that there are gonna be x amount of people who vote just based upon these merits. They're trying to get the swing voters...

I could swear I read that 2004 was one of the biggest liberal voting turnouts in history..........so to say it's not even close has to be somewhat misleading. I mean if every thing goes perfect..........a dem will still probably only get 51-54% of the general vote. Which of course the republicans will respond to saying that it's so close that the dem president has to concede to the right in some respects.........despite Bush calling his 51% win a "mandate".

You must have misunderstood me. I meant that when you compare the non-"southern white hick" voters to the "southern white hick voters", it isn't even close. The white hicks are outnumbered. And I highly doubt 2004 was one of the biggest liberal turnouts, when their candidate didn't even win. FDR's years come to mind, as well as LBJ, as well as Woodrow Wilsonm etc.
