when did these high doses become the right thing?

I get it. You don't like what I've been saying so you've decided to be facitious, right? Dude, like I said -- whatever you want. But let's not try and sell extreme behavior as the standard.

Tell you what, post your pic up against Don's so we can see how well your 2000mg cycle worked up against his 20 mg cycle. Okay?

I am not being facetious and will gladly post my pictures at end of my cycle,

If I could look half as good as “Don Howorth” then I would be very happy with my results.

My current cycle is a high dose cycle, I am gaining weight, working around injuries, but still training very intensely and making progress

The photo you have of Don, he appears to be in his late 20’s to early 30’s,

I have seen his photo when he took ‘Mr. America” in 1967 and no one could look better then he did in 1967. Having said that I am 57 and not nearly as genetically gifted as Don Howorth but wish I were and don't plan to give up anytime soon.

Okay, cool. My point was that genetics and hard work comprise most results. Don is one among many that proves low dosages can work wonders. Sure, you can get a little more with higher and higher dosages but at some point it doesn't matter. You're not going to get double the gains from double the dosage.

And seriously bro, I'm not much younger than you so I hope you appreciate where it's coming from -- be careful. At 57 after a lifetime of training, how much more muscle do you expect? Or need?

a good friend of mine in the back of this cover pic, was featured as the next "big" thing in bodybuilding. i know for a fact he just didnt have the cash to compete........10k per show in gear....$$ is everything in bodybuilding

the bset he did was 6th in the NOC's against shawn ray who placed 4th

Solid has posted his pics on this board before and for 57yrs old he looks awesome. he didn't even take his first injection until he was 47yrs old. how old was Don?(who by the way does look great) and as long as i've seen Solidspine post on this board, i have never seen him try to sell his dosages or in your words "extreme behavior" to anybody. nor has he tried to sell products or books :)

Nelson, you said you were 150 pounds @ age 37. How does that make it a lifetime of training?

I'm not sure what you're referring to. I brought up the point that after a certain age and years of training, gains come more slowly and after a while I don't think it's possible to grow much more. Trying to add 20 pounds of muscle at age 57 with drugs is...well, kinda pointless IMO, but everyone is entitled to do their thing.

Yeah, I was the quintessential hardgainer. I thought I trained hard. I thought I ate a lot. But when I stepped it up -- changed my views on training around, changed my diet, took some supps, that's when I really started growing. I didn't worry about catabolism. I busted my ass. Gained 20 pounds in two years drug free. Still, at age 40 I tapped out and did a few mini cycles. Everything I gained from those cycles I've kept to this day.

I have to say though, I found I feel and look better on the thinner side. (which is my natural frame). I've since dropped down from just under 200 to 185. Kinda slim by todays bodybuilding standards, but the ladies aren't complaining. And that means more to me than the opinion of the guys at the squat rack.

Porter Cottrel did like...500mgs/week at most. But whenever I say that, people who aren't half as big, and take 5x as much gear find the time to stop playing WarCraft just long enough to flame the shit out of me and say he's a liar.
