Help my friend (:D ) feel like less of a whimp because he is new to weightlifting and can't even squat the weight a lot of the guys in the gym are benching.

Anyways, here is mi...err....his current 6 rep max.

Bench Press - 105 lbs
Shoulder Press - 2x35 lbs
Standing Tricep Extension - 40 lbs
Standing Barbell Curl - 60 lbs
Squat - 200 lbs
SL Deadlift - 80 lbs
Seated Calf Raise - 200 lbs

I remember a few numbers. . .

bench - 80lbs x 3
barbell rows - 50lbs x 10
curls - 40lbs x 10
squats - 115lbs x 8
military presses - 60lbs x 5

This was in 1992. . .when my buddy and I dug out his old weight set to see who was the strongest.

the first weight i ever lifted besides push ups and pullups were 5 pound DB, i did curls, laterial raises, kickbacks, and Db rows with them. that was in 5th grade.. the first time i benched pressed was in 8th grade, i did 135x1 no warm up, just tried it, it was rough:( the first time i squated 135x8 freshman year, i really don remember anything else, since i did a whole bunch of shit, i cant recall.

ahhhh....... the memories.

i remember my first bench max - 95lbs in the 9th grade. after 4 months i worked up to 135 lbs, yeah!!!!

i remember squatting 250lbs when i weighed 125, then we got a new strength coach and made everyone go down to parallel and i couldnt even do 200lbs.

i also remember leg extensions with 50lbs and leg curls with 25lbs.

dont forget deadlifting a whopping 150lbs.

oh to in high school again.

When I was training in the early years of high school, I remember my max on bench jumping 10lbs per week. I thought I was bad ass when I hit 225lbs at age 16. . .of course I was a buck forty-five.

The first time in an actual weight room (not lifting at home which started much younger) I was 13, and I can't remember anything but my brothers looking at eachother with priceless looks on thier faces. One of them was my off season sprinting coach (they're alot older than me).

i wish I could remember the first time I benched using an olympic bar.....before I had access to one, I used the crappy cement filled plastic weights that my mom had bought for me...lol...i don't recall the poundages I used with that either....

hoisting that thing over my head and onto my back when I wanted to do squats was fun too.....lol.....but at least I was squatting.

Hrmm.. I remember doing some bench press when i was in grade 10... I could do 115 lbs for a couple reps....

Also... when I was a kid i had this bar that had a concentrated orange juice container on each end filled with cement... I used to do lots of over head presses with it... hehe... couldn't have been more than 30 lbs. I would do about about a million reps until my delts felt like they would fall off... I was like 10

First time I ever touched a weight was Summer of 1991. Moved to a new city and my next door neighbor had some of the concrete weights. The only poundage I remember was of course the bench press...think my top weight was 95-100lbs for, what I can only imagine, was an ugly single. That was at a body weight of 175 or so.

95lbs @ 175....that's almost a double bodyweight bench in Bizarro Land.
