Is there some reason why all the air inlets for the radiator are blocked? Is he running with no thermostat or something?

he's trying to see how little airflow for cooling he can get away with.

if he experiences overheating problems, a bigger electric fan (and motor) will take care it. . .but no amount of money will ever make it look cool. . .one of the (many) advantages of being married. . .looking cool ain't so important.

Instead of "driving around" while the kids finish thier DVD after a car ride I make them watch it parked in the garage. Is that anything?

Seriously, I only gas up every two weeks and it's $55. I really try not to drive as much as I used to. I am FAR, FAR away from parking the mini-van though! Being able to go places and have freedom is a really big piece of my sanity. But I could do it and it would be a major lifestyle change.

the Saab got better gas mileage Im sure. why did you decide to switch from that back to the SUV?

I'm actually driving the Saab right now for 2 reasons: better gas mileage and the trans on the Explorer seems to be going.
