Can westside work on a mon-tuesday thurs-friday split ?

i know your meant to have 72 odd hours between ME and speed days but my situation calls for my weekends to be free,

TIA

i just started a mon-tue/ thur-fri split. my gym isnt open on weekends, so im stuck doing this.....if you really think about it you have about 72 hours between your ME and DE exercises. If i start training ME bench at 4 on monday and finish on 5. 24 hours pass, its the next day at 5, 25 more pass, its wendesday, 23 more, its thursday at 4.. So you'd have 71 hours really... so i think it could work.

That's what I do due to schedule commitments. I try to squeeze cardio in on weekends when I can. That split seems to work fine for me and a few other guys at my gym. Give it a try!

You can make Monday and Tuesday your respective MA days and then make Thursday and Friday your ME days, like deceiver said. I frequently wind up doing this as I seem to work every weekend of the spring and summer.

MY WESTSIDE WORKOUT

MON- DE BENCH
TUE-ME SQ/DL
WED-Off/abs(recovery work)
THUR-ME BENCH
FRI-DE SQ/DL

So your type of split will work, and you can even use the split I use which is the same. As long as you keep the time apart even for both days 2 days in b/w from DE to ME day, then 3 days after ME to DE day.

Yeah, here's my current split:

Mon: ME Squat
Tue: ME Bench

Thur: DE Squat
Fri: DE Bench

I am using this because I really want to work on the squat MAX. I suppose if speed work or bench work became more of a priority, I'd pu those earlier in the wek when I am freshest. You know, Weider principle #1231298465486374 :D
