My muscles can handle the heavy weight but it doesn't look like my joints can... I was going for 405 on bench again and hurt something in my right shoulder. its about impossible to do flat bench or military presses.. dumbells hurt but not as bad as using a bar...... im getting ready to go to the doc. wish me luck. a buddy of mine had this same thing happen about a year ago and still can't flat bench to this day! :(

Re

I feel your pain brother. I have been having shoulder problems for a few years now. Seems like most people who lift for several years have shoulder problems. Hope everything goes ok at the Dr.

It might be a rotator cuff problem. Get different opinions on the matter: chiro, physical therapist, doctor, ect.

If that is the case it will be just of matter of dropping some of the exercises you do (such as military presses, upright row, dips to name a few) and to regular rehab exercises before your workouts.

Forget about getting the doc to cut you open. This should only be as a last resort.

Sorry to hear that bro. I sucks coming back from a shoulder injury. Trust me I am just getting back into it after two of them. Had one surgery from lifting and then as soon as it was fixed, crashed racing superbikes, and messed the sameone up again! Take your time and let it heal. Look at it this way, now you can focus on lower body.

Defenitely sounds like a rotator cuff injury... Those can REALLY suck, hopefully it's not to severe... Best of luck to your bro..

YUM

i hurt my shoulder, so i just didnt do the exercises that gave it pain for a month....now i am all better.

I had an injury like that for a while, then i noticed that when I finish taking a hot shower then put just the cold water on the injury for a few minutes it helped and i couldn't hardly lift my arm or sleep because of the pain before I started doing it and took off a few weeks to help the healing its ok today but i do not go over 365 on bench peroid.

I agree with S.O.B. on the getting cut...

Only get cut as a last resort or you won't even get back 75% of your strength and mobility. Layoff for awhile and do rotator cuff exercises. They actually have out this new contraption looking thing that you use to isolate the rotator cuff for the exercises. Good luck bro!! Been there done it!! It can be healed!!:(

I disagree, I've had my shoulder cut open and fixed and not only do I have my full mobility back but have been stronger than I ever was. My only regret was not going to the doc sooner to get it fixed. I wasted four months hoping it would get better on it's own.

Spunky, go to the doc, if surgery is what it takes have it done. How you recover is up to you. Rehab it like the therapist say and you'll be back to normal in no time. Good luck bro.
