Well guys, I *ucked my shoulder up yesterday!

Make sure you get an mri I've been scewing with a sholder problem finily got the mri and found a full tear in my supraspinatus
(one of the muscles of the rotator cuff) did it benching.........don't misunderstand it I've been working out like a mad man only not being able to do certian things and have made very little gains
going under the knife 2/28/02
drop me a e-mail if you would like more info

its important to work the internal and external rotator cuffs, especially as a warm up for benching and shoulder work outs, to prevent injury, your delts can be big as fuck ,but your rotator cuffs can be weak, unless you intentionally work them, they dont get worked.

That happened to me twice, ice it 3 times a day, get ultra sound, and take an antinflamitory, and dont do anything that hurts it. Mine lasted 5 months. If its a good doc, thats what he will tell you to do.

Flexx is right it could just be biceps tendon impingement. I felt a sharp pain last year on flat bb and waited till it got so bad I had to have surgery-have it checked out asap. Was the pain on top of the front delt or in the rear close to the shoulder blade. With my surgery I was out just 6weeks if its a rotator tear then expect to be out 6 mos.

good luck

oh and flat bb bench should probably be avoided from now on, besides dbs work better.

I feel your pain StoneColdGold...

It drives me nuts to hear all these guys suffer and waste so much time when they could be back in the gym next week.

TO ALL WITH SHOULDER INJURIES:
Do yourself a huge favor. Click the link that StoneCold provided. It is a post about shoulder injuries that we have been updating. If you've never heard of A.R.T., then it is time to learn. If you have not torn the muscle, and there is some kind of soft tissue damage, a good A.R.T. practictioner can virtually "heal" your shoulder in like 3 visits. I recently had a bad shoulder injury exactly like the one described in the first post. I stopped lifting completely for a month and could still barely lift the following month. Finally I had Active Release Therapy done and I was lifting heavy the next week. I wouldn't have believed it unless I had it done for myself.
Look, it worked so well for SCG, it seems that he has made it his personal crusade to help those with shoulder injuries from wasting time living on Vioxx and Ibuprofin!

PM me if you need any help...or just READ THE THREAD!!!

It will heal you just have to be patient and follow your doctors orders, if you need the name of a good sports guy in your city
e-mail me.

I developed a problem in my left shoulder. I went to a chiro and he said it was the AC joint. He xrayed it but found no degeneration in the joint so treated it with ultrasound.

I took a full month without doing any delt, pec, or traps work. It ended up better but not healed.

There are no ART practitioners within 150 miles of me. I may have to give GH a go.

I fkd mine at wrestling practice. 8 months later, still imjured. Bench and incline are the worst, I've layed off them for now.

Had my first ART treatment last week, going for round 2 tomorrow. I'll keep everyone updated. The doc has confidence in healing my shoulder. He could feel slight tears in my rotator cuff and a big one on the top of my chest. Everytime he would do the technique on my chest, you could feel a big hole were a tear was. It was really odd
