Training with a bad cut

Few days ago I was going into the shower and as I was opening it the entire glass came off the railing and fell on top of me. I then picked it up to move it to the other room so I could call my handyman to come and install it and the entire thing shattered on top of me and sliced my forearm.
Luckily all i need was 7 stitches
I asked my doctor if it was okay to train with this injury and she said it would be best if I didn't. the main risk is it opening up again
have any of you ever tried training like this and what do you recommend I do? can I get away with just training my lower body for the next 2-3 weeks?
