For those of you who don't know... I injured my shoulder in January of 1999... the injury reduced the ROM of my shoulder such as to prevent me from doing squats (could never get my arm behind the bar).
Tonight, on November 17th, 2002... almost 4 years later... I have once again done something i never thought I would ever do again.... Squat.
The Front squat... impervious to the shoulder injury, as it plays no part other than acting as a resting spot for the bar. Tonight... I felt a feeling of awe, that feeling of excitement that only a child knows riding a bicycle for the first time...
I only did 185lbs for around 12 reps on the front squat today... with my ginger knee and first time performing this exercise in almost 4 years... I didn't want to push it. Next time, I will push myself further... I feel 100% confident in my ability to do 225 and higher even the next go around. My knee felt stable and everything was ready, steady, go!
Needless to say, I felt like crying after completing the 7 sets of squats...
But... animals don't cry.
