that is a good one... i think the mindset is conserve as many calories as possible in order to put on weight... BUT for me... the more cardio I do, the easier it is to put on weight during cycle... not sure the science behind it, but thats my experience. And I am a fairly thin guy.. 6'3" 200lbs.
 
protien(at least 1-1.5gm per lb of bodyweight), creatine 2x per day, glutamine at least 10grams per day. Just 3 basics that work on or off.
