as has been said here, the dog fighting and accompanying pictures, etc. is what gets the public so very disturbed over this. The real charges that carry the prison time are all the money related charges. The rest is just media hype.

I really don't understand why the gambling matters to the NFL. I thought it was only against rules for pro athletes to bet on their sport. There have to be current players who bet in Vegas all the time.

Michael Jordon (hording Jordon), Scotty Pipen (no tippin Pippen), and Dennis Rodman (rumored to be a great tipper), all played cards in Vegas during their NBA careers. I'm not sure, but I think the prohibition is against sports betting.
