The Patriot Act in Work

We haven't given up any essential liberties.

bullshit. the gov't can go into your house, search for whatever they want, leave, and never have to tell you that they entered, what they searched for, anything. anyone who knows anything can be prosecuted for letting you know anything. same thing with records from most anywhere. mr patriot act can call my college, and request any records they so choose. let's say i catch word that something is up, i can ask a secretary/anybody if anyone was looking for info on me. that person can be prosecuted for telling me anything. the patriot act is fucked up

Our liberties remain the same, as before the introduction of the patriot act. Just forget about secret arrests, probably cause, and stupid shit like that. Its no big deal anyways.

Revised Patriot Act Will Make It Illegal To Read Patriot Act
WASHINGTON, DC—President Bush spoke out Monday in support of a revised version of the 2001 USA Patriot Act that would make it illegal to read the USA Patriot Act. "Under current federal law, there are unreasonable obstacles to investigating and prosecuting acts of terrorism, including the public's access to information about how the federal police will investigate and prosecute acts of terrorism," Bush said at a press conference Monday. "For the sake of the American people, I call on Congress to pass this important law prohibiting access to itself." Bush also proposed extending the rights of states to impose the death penalty "in the wake of Sept. 11 and stuff."

this is even scarier... patriot act II, coming soon to a country near you

No they wouldnt.

No they wouldnt.

For example, without a warrant and without probable cause, the FBI now has the power to access your most private medical records, your library records, and your student records... and can prevent anyone from telling you it was done.
[/QUOTE..... from aclu website.

how do you think the gov't can prevent anyone from telling you it was done?

It's called delayed search warrant and it has been in use long before the Patriot Act. You seem to think that the government would invade your privacy with NO probable cause. Wrong! Maybe you should read Dalia v US

anyone who knows anything can be prosecuted for letting you know anything. If you're a terrorist, it would be considered collaborating. I'm sure there are strict guidelines on this. If I am incorrect, I would like you to give me the section number of the Patriot Act that states what you are claiming.

same thing with records from most anywhere. yeah, just like the millions of other people in the US. Records are easy to access legally if you know what you're doing. Also, cops can do the same thing... it's called NCIC and it's been used for years.

mr patriot act can call my college, and request any records they so choose. Yep, they can! And if I have your social security number and your name, I can too! When agents are already this far, that means they've already built up significant evidence that you are involved in terroristic activities. You've elicited enough interest to them for them to go this far.

But I think you've been reading too many Alex Jones web pages, and are eager to scream that the government is coming after you. Watch your six, the g-men are going to snuff you out!
