The Boneless Sparerib Test :-)

Okay, so my original question was "what is the red sauce that's on boneless spareribs at chinese restaurants and does it have any carbs in yet?"

Well, I've had boneless spareribs for lunch twice in the past two months, from two different chinese restaurants, and neither time did they have any effect on my Ketostix.

So my conclusion is that the sauce doesn't have carbs. Woohooo :D

I really cannot recall anything regarding the value of chinese bone-less spareribs. But, I can tell you one thing for sure: my g/f (Japanese) prepares the BEST RIBS. Well, the point of this post; the sauce that she puts on them is Sweet Bean sauce (similar to what the chinese use). Sweet Bean sauce is about 4 g carbs per 1 tbsp, and no more then 4 tbsp is usually used for a good amount of spare ribs (the rest is fish sauce and soy sauce)

I actually think I posted it on the Chat board.

Another thing is Hunt's tomato sauce. 3g of carbs per 1/4 cup.

That's more than enough to smother meatloaf in :)
