The Best Metal BAND of All Time

I'm seeing the pixies in November.

Have you heard that band they play on the modern rock chanels that sound just like them. Theyre called cage the elephant. Fucking sucks.

I have not heard Cage The Elephant, I steer clear of anything resembling radio anymore.

I may also have a chance to see The Pixies in November.

Blasphemy, really?

Shit yeah, They've influenced 20+ years worth of clones claiming to be "bestial" or "war-like death metal"

Actually, there's quite a few decent clones these days: Diocletion, Apocalypse Command, Bestial Raids and Witchrist come to mind.

Shit, that's a tough one. I have to think back 20+ years. Here's some classics I always keep in heavy rotation

1. Blasphemy - God's of War/Blood Upon The Alter
2. Blasphemy - Fallen Angel Of Doom
3. Sarcofago - INRI
4. Morbid Angel - Abominations (or maybe Alters Of Madness)
5. Abominator - Damnation's Prophecy
6. Sepultura - Morbid Visions/Bestial Devestation
7. Incantation - Onward To Golgotha
8. Disciples Of Mockery - Prelude To Apocalypse
9. Dismember - Like An Ever Flowing Stream
10. Entombed - Left Hand Path

Some good stuff. I still have Sepultura's split 12" at home.

Could never get into McEntree's vocals. I prefer moar natural gutterals with a larger range like Ingram.

Morbid Angle are gods. Dismember are gods. Left Hand Path is fucking classic. Not really familiar with Blasphemy. Sarcafago were too... something... for me to really get into.

I was sticking to metal top 10 (more specifically, death metal). If I did an all around top 10, then I'd need Cash, Hank, Hank III, Unearthly Trance, EHG, Ramesses, Buzzoven, Sabbath, Electric Wizard, NIN, Skinny Puppy, Thrill Kill Kult, Electric Hellfire Club...

More than I could remember right now.

Were they around before Bolt Thrower?

Oh, I shoulda added Blind Guardian to my list. Nightfall was awesome, as was the one before it. And after it. And their side project's first LP.

Don't know if I've ever listened to Benediction with Ingram. I know I've heard them, but I thought Barney was the vocalist when I was listening.

I have some Bolt Thrower with Ingram and he was definitely a worthy replacement for Willets.

fuck yeah! a lot of what's on your list were classics for me.

I'll make a list, gonna try to keep the BG/Anathema type stuff off of it.

Barney was on vox for Benediction's first LP and maybe an early EP or two. Honestly, I never cared for his style, or Napalm Death, or grindcore in general.

I really like Jan Chris' (Gorefest) vocals, too.
