The Best Metal BAND of All Time

Shit, that's a tough one. I have to think back 20+ years. Here's some classics I always keep in heavy rotation

1. Blasphemy - God's of War/Blood Upon The Alter
2. Blasphemy - Fallen Angel Of Doom
3. Sarcofago - INRI
4. Morbid Angel - Abominations (or maybe Alters Of Madness)
5. Abominator - Damnation's Prophecy
6. Sepultura - Morbid Visions/Bestial Devestation
7. Incantation - Onward To Golgotha
8. Disciples Of Mockery - Prelude To Apocalypse
9. Dismember - Like An Ever Flowing Stream
10. Entombed - Left Hand Path

I don't listen to any music like that. I don't know any people who listen to both house/techno and metal.

I want everyone's top 10 albums, stat!

The Who - Live At Leeds
The Beatles - Beatles For Sale
Richard Thompson - You Me Us
The Pixies - Bossanova
The Kinks - Muswell Hillbillies
Steeleye Span - Now We Are Six
Neil Young - Zuma
XTC - English Settlement
Van Morrison - Tupelo Honey
Pink Floyd - Meddle

Blasphemy, really?

Not bad, not bad. Love me some Dismember. I'm not even sure if I can answer my own request.

I still have copies of Incantation Tribute To The Goat with the smeared goats blood lol

Hmm...

Paradise Lost - Draconian Times
Arcturus - La Masquerade Infernale
Arcturus - Trilogie (Bergtatt, Kveldsanger, Nattens)
Borknagar - ST & Olden
Manowar - All
Emperor - Nightside & Anthems
Vintersorg - Till Fjalls, Odemarkens, and some of the new stuff
Benediction - Everything with Ingram
My Dying Bride - Swans, most of their other works (sorry, Anathema doesn't make my lists)
Cradle - Vempire & Dusk (absolutely hate Cruelty and later)

I don't know why, but black metal albums stick in my mind moar then death metal albums for the most part. There's tons of great stuff out there, but a lot of the black metal stuff -- at the time, especially -- really created a new and amazing atmosphere that I never really got with death metal. Like, La Masquerade is just so fucking out there, so amazing, so unique, that it simply cannot be compared to anything... even with Simon taking over for Garm, it still maintained its feeling.

I'm seeing the pixies in November.

Have you heard that band they play on the modern rock chanels that sound just like them. Theyre called cage the elephant. Fucking sucks.

I couldn't begin to narrow my list to ten. My musical spectrum is too broad.

How could I possibly have Hank Williams and High on Fire on the same list?
