The 1000-lb Leg Press Post.......

YESSSS!!!!!!

I was so frigging pumped it was scary. My old PB was
10 45's on each side.

The People at Ballysfitness were all staring at me....LOL

Specially one of the trainers. He thought I couldnt do it.
(I'm only 190lbs after all)

I used 11 plates on each side(22.....all the 45's they had),

put the headphones on w/Green Day blasting and

repped it for 2.

Hooray for Fina-induced agression....LOL :)

Damn, after today I'm going to get serious respect
in my gym(I out-pressed them all).

I'm so happy, I'm doing cartwheels around my house. :)

Anybody else broke a PB?(Lets hear it.)

DAMN! I feel good.... :) This feels eveb better than when
I broke the 300-lb bench mark.

Fonz

heres a first for me:
My last set i had worked up to 10 plates on each side, and was without a partner...
I finished about 10 slow reps...got up...got some water, and then i unloaded one side as i always do with my partner unloading the other.
As i walked over to the other side, the leg machine started to tip,and then WHAM, I DUMPED THE F'ing LEG PRESS! The remaining 10 plates scattered all over.

I know, rookie mistake, but with no blood flow in my head, and ASSUMING that it was bolted down led to this personal first.

MAN I can do reps with over a 1000 and I am only 190lbs. I do it on every leg workout two sets of about 8 to 10. Never have maxed out but Im sure its around 1300 or so.

Congrats bro!! I too can leg press over 1000 pounds. 2/100 plates each side plus 7/45 plates each side for 6 full reps. None of that partial bullshit!! :)

my last set of leg press i do 8 45's on each side for ten reps. just curious, but is this good for my weight and age? weight is 174 age is 19. thanks guys

What form?

Congrats in any case....

Are we talking a vertical press (you upright) or inverted (you on your back). I'm not sure if it matters because I've heard some machines cheat you of weight by how it moves. In any case, 1,000 lbs is awesome.

I did 800 at one time on a press. I do over 650 for my calves. People can't believe I do that (I suppose fast-twitch has it's advantages) for my size. I've not tried how heavy I could go for leg presses (it's hard on the joints).

Congrats on your PB man.

Now, just work on getting more reps with ten aside, and retest your PB in about two months....you'll be surprised how scary strong legs can get when they're a priority.

Back when I used to do grappling competitively, my old training partner and I blasted our legs heavy and hard for six months straight...never checked for a max, but I got up to 27 (dead fucking serious) reps with ten aside. I am 5ft10in, and was 220lbs at the time....using only one amp of Omnadren every 7 days during the last 5 weeks of that training run.

Having the gym stop to watch is fun, eh?

The only true way to test your leg strength is thru "ass to the grass" barbell squats.

Leg press are fine and do have a purpose in a leg training routine however with extremely heavy wieghts the reps and full motion required for complete full development drop considerably thus inviting unwanted injury.

Always keep the reps at least to six as anything less really serves no purpose other than pumping your ego. Just my opinon.

congrats! be careful, leg presses are good no doubt but, very hard on the knee joints.i am also part of the 1-grand club(for reps 8-10).thought i was doing great til this guy loaded the press w/11 on each side & 9 on top(for reps).i saw both of his knees dislocate.this was after his fifth set & knees were not wraped.
be safe wrap tight!!

holy shit!

today i was watching a show on the fox sports net channel, and it was a show called, "you gotta see this!"
this dude went to squat 780#s and he got about half way down and his fucking right knee SNAPPED and he went down and the weight fuckin hit him on the head!!!

heres the nest part a year later he tried it again lol
but he got it that time

These leg presses have a large variation of success for me. It really depends on the type of machine, where I place my feet, how far the range of motion, and who knows what else. My quads get plenty sore from squats alone and the amount of weight I'm able to lift is same variables as above.

1000 Ibs. kicks ass any way you hack it and its a weight that I'll never attempt. I'm a high rep guy.

Well done matey, I have done 13 plate, 10kgs a side which is 1,215lbs or just over 500kgs. But considering I am over 300lbs bodyweight it's not as good a ratio as you, pat on the back mate. Keep up the good work.

alot of you guys forget that, its not how much weight you push, but what you look like, although I can rep 1g like 15 x's to me it dont mean shit, if the guy doing 1000 only weighs 180 who cares, unless your 280 hard nobody cares! just like a powerlifter he may be able to squat 800 and bench 600 but his physique looks like a barrell, and he has no definition or symmetry, who wants to look like that, ohh but I can squat 800!!!!!!

Very true, and I have posted shots showing my whole quad area and I think im pretty ok in that area. Those pics were taken months ago actually and my leg development has improved alot more in terms of muscle quality and more seperation shows.(Of course overall it's because im leaner.) Increased vascularity is another plus. First time I think I actually seen a good amount of veins in my quads. Even when I was leaner before I never seen as much especially after training. I swear it's the fina. :p

I wonder how much you can squat...my guess is not over 400

When you leg pressed the 1000 lbs did you let it come all the way down for a full range of motion or did you do that press that I see everybody do at my gym load the leg press up with all those damn plates and just bend their knees and get right up from the leg press thinking they did something. When I leg press my ankles damn near touch my ass a real leg press.

this thread is a joke. the guy that started it, got banned for talking shit. he was a fraud

Yeah there are loads of guys who do partial knee bends with 1000 lbs. Damn near all of them in my Gym do that half ass leg press shit and swear they are the shit but they can not get that asses over to the Squat rack and do deep squats all the way to the floor with 315 for reps so thet make themselves fill like they are doing something by loading the leg press with all those damn weights and bend their knees about 6 inches. That is not as leg press that is bith pressing.

i wasn't talking about them.

no shit, there are loads of idiots who use too much weight on just about every exercise there is, with piss poor form.

but there are also plenty of guys who do leg presses with 1000 lbs correctly that also squat 315, ass to the floor in the squat rack. for reps.

Leg press at my gym sucks...only holds 12 plates per side...so i dont really know what my PB would be but I love leg press, I still do squats, but feel squats are sooo much technique and leg press you can just grunt a push

He was banned and let back about 4 times for various reasons.

Then he was permanently banned for being a scammer.

I wonder what he is up to these days. He is probably entirely responsible for the increased gas prices as of late, solely to get back at EF members and the mods.

1000lbs? okkkkkkkkkkkk!
BTW my pet turtle whooped a cows ass yesterday!

The leg press in generally is hard to compare from one machine to the next due to the varying angles and such. So what may seem like a lot of weight may actually be less than on another machine with a steeper angle.
