why are you so offended? I know from the people that sent their kids to school here after coming from my country. Is it really that bad? Wtf is pissing you off so much about that? Its a good thing that kids here are not so overwhelmed with material to study all at once

we get bombed with too much extra information at school back home. So, all the time that a lets say, 8th grader from Macedonia is gonna come to USA, he/she is placed at a higher grade cause we already covered that material

No european country taxes its people at 70%+. It's just that they manage their shit better. I'm against public school (went trhought his BS...) and public healthcare but at least in Europe, bad teachers get fired. In Spain, teachers must requalify ever 4 years I believe.

So i suppose you are going to tell me Macedonians learn soooo much that they only have to stay in school for 11 years.

Only 11 years in school? Thats BS. Its just like here. We have the elementary and middle school together and thats 8 years and then you have to apply in whatever HS you want to go to, because there they are ranked by what proffession you wanna study. You have separate HS for medicine, separate for math, separate for computers....Some HS are 4 years, some are 3. Depends. Then comes colledge. Its just a little different.

The failure of NCLB can be directly attributed to the entrenched bureaucracy of the public school system. The system is inherently flawed. I guess they don't teach a lot of economics in chiropractic school.
