so if you grow while you sleep.......

What makes you assume you grow while you sleep? Perhaps sleep merely restores a biological system which facilitates growth during the waking hours.
 
its kind of common knowlege that you grow when you sleep.....no one has ever disputed this...well untill now of course....so jacob are you saying a person grows during the day??? or do you agree that a person grows mostly if not only during sleep...

That is partly not true...

It is ALOT of variables involved but sleep AND androgens both play interlocking important parts...
Without the androgens the high levels of protein sysnthesis wouldnt take place at the rate we want...

So androgens AND sleep both play important roles...

Growth occurs any time there is a physiological push towards anabolism (say, repairing microtraume in muscle tissue) with low energy expenditure. Sleep is a prime candidate for the latter.

Don't cortisol levels also peak during sleeping hours? Don't testosterone levels peak upon waking? I'm not saying growth does not occur during sleep, I'm saying it isn't isolated to sleep. There isn't an isolated 'push' to anabolism as the human body is in a constant state of flux.

The significance between muscle growth and sleep recovery increases if you inject before bed? lmao. So if you hook up an I.V of food and feed while you sleep, your metabolism will be unreal and the gains would be too by that logic. Do both and tell me what happens.
After being out of the loop for 5 years I'm feeling alot better after that question. Sleep and growth is training 101. :happyscra
Toss the idea of using before you go to sleep, it's superfolous.

Testosterone levels don't peak upon wakening, but rather during a certain part close to awakening, depending on your circadian rhythm.

While some cortisol is produced during increased REM stages, cortisol levels actually reach a nadir during SWS stages of the sleep.

And, no, growth is most certainly not isolated to sleep, but sleep is the msot prime time due to low energy expenditure, SWS cycles, and growth hormone release.

I see alot of speculation via hormonal pathways, but no hard evidence such as measurable lean mass increases differing from final waking hours to the end of resting hours.
