flipping cars is a good idea, just make sure the amount put in is what youll get out. can be a slippery slope in this economy. good luck.

I like the car idea if you have the mechanical know how

Drop shipping is damn near impossible to make a profit on these days (spamming e-bay costs money)

Easiest way to make "side money" is to get a fuckin' job.

I made around 5 bills selling nun-chucks on ebay from a drop ship company before they banned the selling of those type of "weapons" on ebay, lmfao!

take that guitar and that attitude out and start hitting the clubs. . .make a name for yourself and you'll be making side money doing something you truly enjoy and you'll be beating them away with a stick.

lots of cash to be made there if you have a credit card.

pokerstars.com

find a good drop shipper and spam items on ebay.

go to craigslist and look under the free section. look for anything of value and then relist it on craigslist. or try to find scrap metal, and once you have a lot, sell it.

wtf is anything4free?? i clicked your link and read for a little while and didn't have a clue what they were talking about...is this some kind of consumer pyramid scheme bs?? please enlighten me. . .

Put an ad on Craiglsist to do a little manual labor around folks houses....you would be surprised how much many people will pay you to clean out there gutters or mow a yard....dig out some flowers or to plant them.

definitely not. it's legit.

say you sign up on "xbox3604free.com" (i just made that up, not sure if its a real site) and they say you get a 360 if you get 8 of your friends to sign up. now because you have to have a credit card and complete an offer (most are free trials.. aka netflix, stamps.com, etc.) people will pay you to complete their offers. so rather than busting ass hoping someone is actually going to give you a referral, people just pay you to do it for them. this equals out to you getting paid, and they get XYZ product for significantly cheaper than retail. and then the company gets a commission from netflix for example for sending customers their way.

now there are sites for just about everything from laptops to big screen TVs. take a "50 LCD TV for example. someone might pay you $50 to sign up under them so they can wind up getting a $2000 for say $400. assuming they paid 8 people $50 and that was the requirements to get the TV.

so..

you: get paid
they: get product
the company: gets paid commission for driving customers to xyz company.

it might sound shady, but it's pretty simple and it does work.

This is great info dude, thank you. You partake in this?

Any personal experience to share besides the above?

it may be a legitimate marketing tool. . .but, it is ABSolutely a pyramid-type arrangement.

interesting. . .i'm gonna look at this a little deeper after tax season is over.

thanks for the quick (reader's digest version) heads-up :)

I've done it before, yes. My only advice would be to start out big. So if you are just looking for cash, try to do offers for people who need referrals on big item sites. Some things can only be done once, so you don't want to piss away the easy ones (like signing up for a netflix trial and then canceling) on someone who's just trying to get Modern Warfare 2 and give you $5. There's a lot of good info on the forums I linked too.. tons of reviews on each site, and everyone has a trade rating similar to ebay's so you can only work with reputable people.

I like digi's advice. You could make some change busking. Learn some Barry Manillo and play that shit shirtless around some old ladies. They'll eat that shit up.

Technically it is a pyramid like, but it really can't crash as you can do some things multiple times, and the offers constantly update and change. These sites have been around a long time now, if the legality of it were in question it'd be shut down by now.

If you remember matrixes (technically matrices, but I believe it was purposely misspelled) from 5-6 years ago, it was a pyramid scheme to the T and a lot of people made tons of money, and then got their shit sued sideways.

That's what I was kinda thinking. I'm already a member of Netflix and I've done tons of deals (like sign up for this credit card and get $50, then cancel) type things. I'm sure there are hundreds more out there tho.

The decent money would seem to be made by the people getting that 50 inch flat screen for $400 and then ebay'ing it.

People definitely do that too. I have no idea if you could swing a $400 LCD TV or not. That was just me ball parking a figure. Some people will just do trades where they sign up for you, and you for them and no money exchanges hands. Other times you'll get it down to just needing one person so you might shell out some extra to get it done.

bad idea now-a-days (if you plan on buying a house or car or getting a business loan in the near future), as lenders are looking at all kinds of shit in your credit history that they didn't look at before bill clinton's economy came crashing down on all of our big, stupid heads. . .

I'm OK with them looking at any of that since my credit score is perfect.

Got a car loan about a year ago and that's exactly what they said

"well you're score is perfect so no problems there"

I might worry if I had some shady shit on my record. I doubt someone would pass up making some interest on me. Guess you never really know, though.

well since you don't seem intelligent enough to start a business, good looking enough to model, or degenerate enough to deal drugs.... i'd start with getting a job

my score was 890 two years ago, when i borrowed $50k for a business venture. . .my wife's was 820 because she had more credit card activity than me (she did those "sign up today and get an extra 20% off your purchase" things at department stores and then later on cancelled the card because she was never going to use it). . .both of our scores are excellent, but hers was lower because of that kind of stuff. . .now (since the massive financial industry bailout), those types of activities are looked at even more unfavorably than before. . .just an fyi.

When I was in college me and my dad used to buy government vehicle from auctions and paint, gunk the engine, etc ...

I think legally if you sell cars for profit you have to get a dealer's license.

Gigolo?

So what do u guys feel about investing in gold?

it's gonna rise 3x in value soon?

Easy and Money should never be used in the same sentence. and those that get something good going, and never gonna share. Though plenty of people willing to take your moneyh on scams.

Hard Work is how you make money. Or get a job.

A year ago, stocks would be good money, but the easy gains have largely subsided. Still a number of good buys out there, though.

Gold isn't that good of an option. Numis isn't an option to noobs, and physically holding generic gold takes a 5-figure investment. Speculation with futures is also a poor option for market noobs.

Honestly, I'd have to second the prostitution notion. Unless you're in a position to seek VC or something, you're pretty much stuck.

Absolutely credited.

I'd also add the cliche "it takes money to make money" to round out RG's poast.

Dood, interest rates are in the gutter ITE. If he has money, the stock market is TCR.

:cow:
true, but I don't know what he needs the money for, and he's only pulling 1g a month. subtract his living expenses and he's maybe got a 100 a month to mess with. he's going to want more than that if he's going to be messing with the market. so with that said, why not just bank 100 a month until he has at least 4 figures to invest. and if that's the case, might as well take the interest (albeit low) with zero risk.

Well, the thread title stated an interest in making "side money" (whatever that means). Not much money to be made from buying T-bills or collecting a trivial amount of interest from savings, so that $0.46/month doesn't seem to fit OP's criteria.

Best option here would be to learn how to control and manage risk, then choose a suitable investment vehicle relative to desired risk/return.

I don't disagree with that, it just doesn't seem like he is going to have enough money to make a sizable investment, which is obviously going to inhibit how much he came make. That is why I suggested just saving money.

Agreed WRT saving and him not really having enough money to generate income.

i got rich quick by doing this:

I started working when I was 13 on my grandfathers farm, he paid us dick but it was money, I invested that money in CD's which grew over time. I took the cash from the CDs and all my hard work and invested my time and money in school. I went to college and graduated nearly at the top of my class and applied to post graduate school. I sacrificed going out and partying all the time, I never did illegal drugs (minus steroids) and I worked my ass off everyday. I got into a great school and got my post graduate degree. I now have my own business at an age most people are getting their first "real" jobs. I make however much money I want to make by the amount of time I put in. I'm no millionaire but I make plenty of money to live comfortably and can spoil myself.

I need to just start paying off debts so i can save for investing, and not saving for bills. I am putting 750 into flipping cars with a buddy so well have 1500 total to start. i also have an ebay business I make 2-300 a month on. I want to expand it into a health store, not just apricot seeds.
flipping cars is just as big a risk as any. and if you are buying one for 1500, there's going to be a real limited markup no matter what.

gladiator, I didnt read the thread, but do you have a current job right now? I know that landscaping and yard care this time of year always needs people and you can get a tan while doing it lol. You could install sprinkler systems and build stone and rock walls for home owners and businesses; that has to pay decent you'd think. I know Johnny did that during his summers off during college and he made good money considering his age and everything.

cindy glad lives in California. Those jobs are already taken by mexicans. They catch him out on their turf and he'll get dumped down along the TJ border a week later...sodomized, burned, scared, and disfigured. :D

Seriously though glad, you should do that! Go take your $750 and buy a lawn mower, a gas powered weed whacker, a gas leaf blower, and some hedge clippers. Make a flyer on your computer and go get 1000 copies at Kinko's. Then hit the street ngr! You will even have plenty of that money left over for gas. Hope you have a pickup!

He could market himself as being an American Citizen who pays taxes lol. Seriously you dont see too many illegals aroudn here doing stuff besides roofing and general construction. Usually the college kids are doing the landcaping and yard work in these partz

you can only sell i believe 3 cars (check your state laws to find out how many) per year before you have to have a dealers license. To have a dealers license you need a lot more than what you got to set it up.

I've been a business owner since 1998....what a pain in the ass!(dealing with employees, IRS, State Tax Board, Workers Comp, pain in the ass clients, etc.)

I do, however, make a great living that supports my wife and 5 kids and our lifestyle.....golf, skiing, small vacations here and there. The problem is there is a cap to what I can make based on this current economy and what I'm willing to risk..... and I want more.....how greedy does that sound? No, really I want to be diversified and have an income that is automated besides what I do right now.

I do have a solid idea that I want to throw out to y'all because I can't find a good marketing partner such as an affiliate network company. My father in law was a pioneer in alternative medicine in his day.....still is. His background is heavily based on nutritional science. He has never been in it for the money and continues to help heal people and not charging them.....great guy!

Anyway, he came up with a list of herbs, vitamins, and minerals that helped people with thinning or loss of hair grow it back quickly. He developed it for woman with hormone issues, diet deficiencies, menopause issues, stress, post pregnancy, etc. It really does work, my wife and mother both had new baby type hair growing within 6 weeks....crazy!

I have the formula and a manufacturer. I also have the $$$ to get several thousand bottles packaged and shipped. I really am looking for an experienced marketing partner that can eventually move about 50,000 bottles/month. PM me if you have any ideas.

Glad needs to be a pool boy, especially livin in Cali. Walk around some rich chicks pool, shirt off, skimming the water with a net.

Then you can say "All done mam', anything else you need?" She'll either pay you or blow you, either way its a WIN!

How much you looking to make extra per month? Minimum expectations cause I know what you would really like to make. I might have something for you.

Lets see. Im getting around 250/week from tips +600/month from the checks, so Im making

Chili's - 2200/month.
Ebay - 300/month

I am looking to make around 3000-4000 a month, so I guess im trying to make between 500-1500 extra a month.

you got a golden ticket?

We all wish don't we! Depends on how desperate we get right? With a little push in the right direction and a good idea coupled with hard work, I believe we can accomplish what we desire.

For example, look at all the successful people around this forum. Their goal is to achieve a certain body type that is not easily attained by 95% of the human population....or more???

The dedication, knowledge, and hard work that goes into bodybuilding is the same type of energy that could help accomplish monetary goals as well no matter how much $$ you currently make or have and regardless of what you currently know.

I am willing to bet that most people posting in this forum know more about diet, gear, training, etc. than most doctors that paid hundreds of thousands and spent over 10 years for their education. Just goes to show!

I bet you have connections, uncles, business owners, bosses, friends, etc. who you can help and you don't even know it. 90% of rich people get where they are by hard work + creativity + having connections to get started.

eg: my uncle is a vp at a defense contractor, i use him to start my own defense contracting company to ship spoons to iraq. 5 years later, i'm driving ferraris.

start writing down your skills, what excites you and your connections. Connect the dots and go from there.
