shoulder surgery yesterday , ouch .

just had my shoulder worked on yesterday , they repaired my tendons and cut a half inch off my clavicle and collar bones . it hurts like a bitch . thank god for percacets . been out of my sling since an hour after getting home yesterday and been moving it around a little . i will let you know the out come in a week or so . but it does hurt like hell if anyone was wondering .

I believe the procedure you speak of is called a distal clavical excision....your AC (acromial/clavical) joint is trashed. So they basically remove it. The cut about a quarter to a half inch off of your clavical, which by the way is your collar bone. Basically this removed the pinch point at the AC joint which has deteriorated beyond repair. I had this procedure done in Dec of 2000 and Ill be competing in August. Dont push to hard, go to physical therapy and do the exercises. By the way, my shoulder feels like a new one now....no problems at all.

Hope you recover properly, i had surgery on my knee when i was 15. Snapped my femur right at the knee, they put 4 screws in it, but it has never been the same. I cant squat at all.

Hey Winny, I hear that bro. I tore my meniscus cartilage in my right knee back in January and since the operation it has been doing better and I have actually packed on about 80 pounds on my squat, but my range of motion is stuck at only going parallel now instead of ass to the floor. I have deep joint aches in that sucker and I know arthritis is around the corner looking for my ass!

BT DT. Couple of years ago. You are doin a hell of a lot better than I did. I laid on the floor and wimpered for 2wks. Had a damn DO instead of a MD and the asshole only prescribed me Vicodan (DO's don't believe in pain meds.....too bad I didn't know that before the op.) I thought I was gonna die. Don't think I even got up to go to the bathroom in those two weeks.
