These kinds of "treatments" crack me up. They go off on how smoking can interfere with healing because it decreases blood flow yet they say to use ICE which causes restriction of blood vessels and reduced blood flow and hence reduced healing. The inflamation in and of itself increases bloodflow, this is one reason injuries are often read, taking NSAIDS to reduce swelling also has a negative impact on healing. The fucking medical community is a joke, almost as bad as our government, full of hypocritical mumbo jumbo.PolandSpring said:Treatment includes rest, ice, compression, and elevation (RICE), gentle exercise, stopping smoking, and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories (NSAIDs). Smoking can interfere with healing of tendinitis by decreasing blood supply and collagen metabolism. A sling may be used temporarily for comfort. Rarely, surgery is recommended if home treatment does not help.
