Goddamn Brian, in the 2 years i've been reading your posts i've never seen you depressed or vulnerable.
Naturally I love to dispense advice on EF, but i have no real experience in this field. I know that the other guys here who have been there like Goldendelicious, Bran987 and AAP can show you which paths you should avoid and which you should take.
On another note, its very nice that you virtually never get depressed. I know know if this helps but form what i've read about it depression is a trick the mind uses to help you get past problems. When you have a problem you become depressed so you lose interest in all aspects of life other than your problem. Sex, eating, socializing, school, family, etc. they all lose importance and you spend all your time focusing on your problem. The mood was 'supposed' to make you find a solution by giving you nothing else to think about but the problem and its solution. However it doesn't always work (it virtually never works if you ask me), hence the fact that the world is filled with 70 year olds who are depressed because of stuff that happened when they were 8. Also alot of people just suffer in misery instead of finding solutions to their problems instead when they are depressed. However it sometimes works, and it may have helped you when you were about to flunk out of college by doing this (making you lose interest in everything but finding a solution to that problem).
It seems like you already know what the solution is though, you just need to implement it and get accustomed to it.
I don't know if you are like me and enjoy using pharmacology to manipulate your brain out of this state but you can try it to see if it helps. SAM-e taken with drugs that are dopamine and norepinephrine agonists will probably let you handle this better.
But we both know you wont feel like this forever, just until you can accept what your new life is going to be like.
