I'm very happy for you! YEAH!

My mom didn't "get it" when I said I wanted to join the USMC but when I walked through the front door in dress blues I could tell that she finally "got it" because she started crying.

It's funny because now my kids are the ones who don't understand why I want to get in shape. They are the younger generation and they don't get it.

I'm so happy to hear they might come to your show!!

Ex-marine, eh!!! I'm ex Air Force..... You are hard core!
I remember they did the same thing when I left for the military also. When I came back home... they were just like wow you really were ready to be on your own. Then when I was training and raising money for Leukemia and Lymphoma while training for marathons, they were like "Who has Leukemia?"
I'm like "noone I knew before, but now I have met a few children with it so I am raising money for them!" My dad,"Can't you find something better to do, why do you put yourself and body through this?" "You know you have a bad back!!" My mom started getting supportive of me at that point in my life.... She's always supported me in weight training... Kinda interested in it she would eat the same things I do and gives me some good tips.... but she's highly unmotivated to work-out. EXCEPT - NOW :) My dad's buying her a elyptical bike.

Congrats to your mom on the 50 pound weight loss! That really is a great accomplishment. And I'm sure once they see what your competition is like they'll have a much better appreciation of all the sacrifices and hard work that's involved. Best of luck in everything.
Thanks sweetie :rose:

^^^ I couldn't agree more.

Treil. .. huge props to your moms weightloss.. I know your old dismal look on getting older you've had in the past, and I know it had changed.

And for the record, I AM coming to MI to see YOU ... the meetup just worked out that way and is an added benefit

Please, continue to inspire me ..

I know you are.... again just trying to help him understand... Kinda hard headed!!!

Parents suprise attacked me.... So now I have to go study but I'll be back shortly... gotta keep taking breaks.

NOTICE I said parent (S)
Yes, my mom was here!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She lost about 50 pound. Still has another 40-50 she could lose but some of it was muscle definitely!! They are both talking about coming to my competition now. Kinda strange actually..... I think it was my mom telling my dad she wanted to go, and my dad was never really into figuring out what I'm doing... Again he says,"Why are you doing this again? What's it for?" Then when I told him everyone was going he said,"People are going to fly over here to see you?" I said,"THANKS DAD!!" went on to say,"It's a meet up... My competition was just good timing for it." He said, "Oh." Wierdo...

My mom said last time I went up to the hospital she thought my arms were looking really nice. Obviously she couldn't talk.
So this could be neat! I told her about everyone on here and she said to tell you all "Thanks" for the prayers. She always asks how Bunny is doing also

Just catching up, that is awesome! I am very excited for you!

JUNE 12 2006
'MORNING EVERYONE :)
9 WEEKS DOWN 5 weeks to GOooooo
Feeling pretty good today!!
Weight 149.? (cramping like a biatch)
a.m. cardio 60 minutes
p.m. weights (hams, calves, glutes)
p.m. cardio 40 minutes
2 clients
some studying some posing
and a partridge in a pear tree...

Note: I took out all stimulant products yesterday on my day off. No CB, no Trex, and no yohimburn lotion obviously. Had enough energy through the day... and woke up feeling good. 7 hours of sleep last night. Could have used another hour but I'll take it!
Took my 2 CB, and the yohimb again this morning. Made a decision to cut out hot sauce, pickles, sugar-free jell-o, and hot peppers.... not good on the stomach I'll leave it at that. I am holding onto some water I can tell today. I also have not been adding any salt to my food.

Ohhh I spoke with my friend (doctor) and he has some electrical device that he bought 10 years ago. He said that basically you put these headphones on and glasses and so you are listening to ocean waves, trees, etc... At the same time you can change the wave that is being sent into the brain I guess kinda like what a hypnotizer would use. He said that he's going to lend it to me till my show and see if it helps. Said within 15 minutes I should be out and should sleep pretty deeply. Also told me to get back on the melatonin at night. Melatonin has made me very groggy in the past. He said to take a quarter tablet and that should be just fine. So I'm not adding that in until I really have nothing else to turn too. going to start with electrocution first... Or hypnosis... Whatever...
Have a good one :)

Re: Treils 2006 Competition Log

Looking great girl! With another four weeks to go - wowza!! :)

Today is day one of 'offical-back-on-track' for me and the bf. He got up at 5 AM to cook breakfast and lunch before we hit the gym.

Good to hear about your mom too. My own mom used to be so strong, lean, and muscular (I can remember her arm wrestling guys, lol). But now after knee surgeries and lyme's - she's at least 80 lbs overweight. It scares the hell outta me because I never want to grow into weight like that in my late forties! Can you give any details on how your mom dropped the weight?

Thanks lady!
Well 2 years' ago I started helping her lose weight. I had moved back home for a few months while I apartment hunted and during those few months I worked with her. I talked to her about diet and nutrition (got her a GNC card showed her the supplements to buy) and exercising. The first 40 pounds came off because of that over the past two years'. With the recent hospitalization she lost another 10 (unfortunately I know muscle was catabolized).
She is the smallest now that I have seen her since Hmmmmm probably about 13 years or so. Mostly her loss is due to strictly diet. This is with hardly any exercise. She is getting an ellyptical bike though and adding that in and being able to bounce recipe ideas off of each other I think will really benefit her, and me too (she's a good cook). She's really good with the food intake (probably doesn't eat enough), it's the exercise part she has always had trouble with. I think though she is going to do it up this time!!! I also gave my dad some yoga dvd's because when I lived at home he was doing yoga and he even said that was the best he felt. My dad is really active as far as always doing something so weight isn't really an issue. His diet is not the best but he knows moderation and he actually has always leaned towards better food's over junk food. So he is going to start using those. Then maybe after they come to my competition they will listen a bit more to me :)
My mom still wants me to help her with a weight training plan down the road. She was good about doing the stretches I gave her before her surgery.
I'm just excited that even at 53 and everything she has been through that she is still willing to get on track  Recently I had her start taking Coenzyme-Q10 at about 100 mg 3 times a day. Normal person takes about 100mg a day. It has no known toxicity, and will help her with energy levels and getting back to feeling herself.
