If you do cardio, just make sure you eat enough to compensate. If you eat 3000 calories, and need 2800 to grow, you're good. If you do cardio on top of that, you could need 3100 to grow. See the problem? It's just numbers, really. If you do any cardio, treat it like a training session and have pre- and post-workout nutrition ( one scoop of whey is fine, with 5 tbsp or so of dextrose in the post-shake), and make sure you adjust calories accordingly.
Whether it's beneficial or not, I dunno. I'd argue better nutrient partitioning from the cardio, but then again you'll likely be fine with the above.
