quick diet and training

Wassup People,
I need HELP. I've recently gained a lot of weight (my wife got pregnant and I just had my daughter). I need a good diet/ excercise/ supplement program to lose this weight. I have 6 weeks before I have to enter the FDNY and I need to get in shape FAST. I'm looking to lose about 40 lbs. and other than starving myself I don' t know how to do it. I would really appreciate any and all advice. Nothing is to extreme, so let me know.

Thanks for the info, but I've tried very low carb diets and never could stick to them. I end up binging after a week and feeling shitty on them. My energy levels are always low, I'm sluggish and tired all the time. And that's while supplementing with fish oils, flax seed and ephedrine. I really don't fuction well if my carbs are lower than 100 grms. per day. My training is also affected. I like to work out hard and heavy and I just can't finish a workout while on low carbs. To you have any other suggestions?

If you have trouble cutting your carbs, you're gonna have a real tough time losing that weight.
