Question about ending my relationship

So basicly my girlfriend sucked ass all summer. It became long distance and basicly she didn't want to try and make it work even tho we were still dating. So we got in fights alot and eventually it led to us taking a break after the last time i came to see her (2 weeks ago). She said she wanted to get back togther when we went back to school and it wasn't about guys and stuff and i toold her i can give her space but if you hook up with a guy its probably over. Long story short i asked her today and she said she kissed a guy for 2 min when she was drunk. IM sure this is all that happened but at this point in the relationship i couldn't even look at another girl. I was shaky about whether i wanted to get back with her because of the fact that she basicly turned off for th summer. she says her reason for this is that she has been in some form of a relationship for 4 years and shes 20 and she was sick of having someone to answer to. Is it stupid to count that kiss as a complete deal breaker?

Furhtermore her birthday is the 11th of august and i already spent 260 dollars on Broadway tickets and 200 dollars on airfare. Should I go or should i try to sell the tickets. I really dont think i could look at her the same way anymore but this happened an hour ago so i not sure. Also things are always perfect when we are together and im afriad of seeing her and falling back into things. Help!!!
 
I know it's a lot harder to do and see from your perspective, but a break would be the best thing for both of you. She needs to sow her wild oats, so to speak. Tell her you know she's not in the state of mind to put you #1 and that you want to take a step back. You might grow apart but you will also learn a lot in the process.

Sell the tickets and end it now...she needs time to grow. If you don't allow her to do so she will resent you even more in the future.
 
Didnt you post about this a while back about how it was going to be a LD relationship for the summer then get back together for school? I believe I and others said to drop her ass back then. Go ahead and do that now.

maybe when you guys start going to school agian and you meet a few other girls and "kiss another girl for 2 minutes" youl be on even ground again and you will be able to make it work, if thats what you guys even want.

Absence, if anything, makes the heart grow fonder. If there is any possibility of it ever working, it will only be after she has some time to be free. You sound more serious than her, and your needs would be better met with a girl a little more like yourself.

I made that mistake myself, and to this day I'm still pissed as hell about it. I made a lot of decisions that I regret all in the hope of saving a relationship I was serious about, including "taking a break" with things. It didn't work and ultimately wasted 6 months of my time.

It's not a deal breaker but there is NO point in trying to have a serious relationship in college. You're both going to be in those situations where something could happen so deal with.

You're never going to be in a situation with chicks being a dime a dozen again.......EVER! Take advantage of it.

lol, well you all confirmed what i already have thought and want to do. Yea being in a relationship isn't ideal for school but sometimes it just happens and you gotta run with it. Which i did, i would continue to do so but after this shit happens i dont think so. Basicly she admitted that she was hesitant to get into a relatinoship which she definately was but that once we got back for the summer she didn't want to put any effort into it. Any girl that doesn't want to put forth any effort isn't worth my time. So i told her we are completely done but she wants to call me monday and she keeps asking if i'll pick up. i kept saying i dunnno. If she keeps calling me what do i do. Im not an asshole (well im not an asshole to people who get to know me past a certain point) and im not just going to tell her to go fuck herself, which is realisitcally what she deserves. How should i handle her trying to talk to me.


And anyone know a good place to sell broadway tickets :)

yup you did, wasn't ready for that now and in no way could have done it and followed thru with it. sometimes it takes some bullshit to get to see the real girl behind her. Its alot easier to break up with someone you resent then with someone when thigns are good........ or at least okay
