Protein is starting to gross me out....Need something that tases good

After so long of drinking 2-3 shakes a day, I am starting to dislike drinking my Protein. It's actually starting to gross me out at the thought of it. I guess I am just so damn tired of the taste. I am using Optimum Nutrition Protein which there is nothing wrong with the way it tastes, in Choc. milk is tastes great I am just so sick of it. The Vanilla is DISCUSTING, so I won't even be going that route. Are any of those quicky Protein shakes any good? Like the ones that come in cans or the little Juice boxes? Mixing 3 shakes a day in the blender, cleaning the blender, brinding the blender to work, all getting pretty old and inconvient.

Sorry for the rant :)

I completely understand. I get tired of it too. Have you tried tuna fish? You can buy the little 3 oz cans and those are a great snack. They contain about 22 grams of protein each. Also, don't forget about cottage cheese, peanut butter, and pre-cooked ham slices. Each of these items is high in protein and easily ready.

As for the quick shakes, they are effective and tasty, but they are also expensive. You really pay for the conveinence with those. It also seems, that what you may need is just a change, or at least a rotation of food since you are getting tired of what you have.

Good Luck!

the premade shakes are usually gross, and way overpriced.

get a $3 shaker bottle from dps...they are great for making shakes with little cleanup, and work very well. I do this when I am too lazy to clean my blender.

try a new flavor of protein.

maybe try some bars instead of shakes if you must....would be better to get most of your protein from real food anyway.

shakers

agree with the above, I don't even use a blender ever. The shakers work perfectly well. Using a fork or spoon sucks, you get those clumps and shit, makes you gag. But with a shaker, it takes like 20-30 seconds and is completely mixed. Shaker cleans out really easily, just rinse it out if you're using water. So I'd go with that route if you want a solution for the inconvenience at work....as for the taste issue I dunno on that one...I'll go with the other dude above with the tuna...I usually have a couple shakes during the day and a can or two of tuna. Or, I also buy a big bag of frozen, boneless, skinless chicken breasts and cook them all at once and keep them in the fridge to snack on during the week. or maybe low sodium beef jerky if such a thing exists......grrrr

Ok man, I've been there. Here is what you do:

Get a coffee mug. Put in the two scoops of Optimum. Fill the coffee mug half way with cool/cold water, and stir it up. Add a little more water, stir it a little more.

Then CHUG. Three swallows. Tastes bad, but it happens so fast.

No cleanup not much after taste. Maybe swish a little after.

Muscle milk is the best tasting protein, but its more of a meal replacement then a protein shake. However Ultimate Nutrition's Prostar protein taste great!!! almost tastes like muscle milk :)

Muscle milk is the shit. It tastes great, plus, the way it's designed it's really one of the best proteins out there. I have tired vanilla, chocolate, and the banana flavor. they all taste great! the man who created muscle milk, Dr. Adams is a member of the gym i work at. I have spoken with him a few times about muscle milk. He told me that because of the certain types of fats that are in muscle milk, the body utilizes them to produce natural creatine....take this info for what its worth. Hope this helps.

my favorite right now is optimums mint chocolate whey, tastes just like girl scout cookies.

and i got some muscle milk a few weeks ago, cookies and cream flavor, and to be honest, it made me gag, it was way too sweet, and just made my want get sick. i will not by muscle milk again.
