They do have their own purpose I agree. I was commenting on what someone else said about upping the precentage of protein and lowering the percentage of carbs. Perhaps I should have said that excess protein calories are stored just the same way that excess fat and carbs calories are stored. I have learned through trial and error that if you pay more attention to the number of calories you take in and less attention to the number of fat and carb grams you take in, you will achieve results. Perhaps I am just an anomoly and what works for me only works for me.
