I have been lifting for about 3 years 2 of which were straight. I got up to about 195 lbs some of which was fat on the stomach I started doing mma and cut down to 178 can see ab definition and began working out again to put size back on. I have read articles about consumption of protein some experts say too much is bad and others say take a gram per pound of body weight. Im stuck. my diet sucks i dont really have one its more of just eating "healthy" and high protein foods. I usually consume 180 grams a day. Im back up to 183 I want to stay natural but also be lean/big I need help with answering the protein question and possibly help with a guideline as a basis for a new diet. if anyone could help i would appreciate it. Thanks.

350 grams of protein a day bro if you want to get big. There's nothing wrong with a high protein diet. If you are lifting heavy-ass weights, your body needs all it can get.
 
I appreciate the response bro but I currently consume about 180 a day is this not enough? I read that too much protein can be bad on the kidneys is this considering you are not working out? and also wont much of that 350 grams convet to fat? As I have also heard your body can only consume 50g an hour...?

The myth over the rate of protein consumption is bullshit. The number has been said to be 30, 40, 50 , 60 and so on. As if the body has a set number? It just digests what is available.


The point is to have protein available for muscle repair 24 hours a day to maximize growth.

Excess protein will be either burned up for energy or stored as fat depending on your overall caloric intake. That's not a bad thing.

All the biggest guys eat 400, 500, 600 grams of protein everyday. Skinny pussies don't eat as much protein. the reason being: not enough protein.

Bodybuilding is a living testament of the power of high protein diets when combined with weight training. You can't argue with real world results bro.


Taking an aspirin is bad on your kidneys. But, to what extenet? You could take 2 aspirin a day for 50 years and probably not be able to distinguish any negative effect from the aspirin. High protein diets won't hurt you. Guys have been on them for 20, 30, 40, years and never had medical issues raced back to a high protein diet. Not that I have ever heard of.

Eat lots of protein and get big, or don't eat lots of protein and stay weak.
 
Thanks for the insight bro it really cleared my questions up cuz now i have nothin to worry bout. other than a meal plan. but i guess as long as im stackin the pounds on wont matter. ill eat plenty protein.
