i gotta run samote, but i watched the first two hours of the string theory DVD.

interesting, but since it is untestable, I tend to agree that it is more of a philosophy then a science... the extra dimensions, the size and shape of the strings, etc.. seems completely made up, BUT at the same time I can see how it could make sense.

I'd be interested to see how research progresses with it.

Unfortunetly, theoretical physics is so far ahead of experimental physics that we will likely never be able to test this stuff. It's all based in extremely complex mathematics that's out of most peoples' league, even PhD math and physics people. And no testing/verifying = no funding, so it's gonna get pretty stuck for a long time.

Looks like a good time Lestat, it has been snowing here the last 3 days, I am looking to head to snowmass if I don't have to work next week. next time let me know when you will be in Colorado. I am sure I will still be playing in the mud here for a long time with all the wells they have planned..
