my personal trainer wants me to do a split routines.
he has me doing it like this:
push
pull
legs
abs/misc
also has me doing 25 sets per session 12 reps
I am a newbie to weight training and think its too much for me but wanted your opinions. I’m paying this guy $80 per session

How many days a week do you train? Four?

What is your current long term and short term goal? Sometimes we establish short term goals that require more work than we are willing to put in, you have to make sure your goals are realistic for the amount of time and work you are willing to put into it. Granted of course a good personal trainer would have talked about all this in a pre consultation and let you know what would be entailed in meeting your goals in the time line you have set, then given you options.

I work as a PT in one of the top gyms in the country and would never just bail on my clients like this

this trainer is being lazy.

Make sure you write down all you learn from your trainer and drop him, read and ask more, save $80

get a new trainer like Mobster or steve
