Clearly the issue is that the rules are arbitrary, therefore people poke and prod to see where the limit is.

If rules were rules, documented and applied evenly the same issues wouldn't exist.

Big Rick Rock and go back SEVEN YEARS... never have I had an issue with him for administration for that matter. When elite became a place that I no longer liked coming to, I simply stopped logging on. No fanfare, no hooplah, no need to help my ass out the door.

That is why I don't understand this need to push the limits. If one doesn't like the rules and can't find a POSITIVE way to make some changes then why make things harder for those that have to babysit this zoo?

I was once an elite mod and my GOD the hours that were put in trying to help keep personalities from clashing here. OI!!! We are talking real-life wives up and leaving their families to chill with some dude, then grudge posting naughty pics of him when he kicked her ass out, crazyfuckinglooneypsychos who gained access to the mod board, trusted elite mods selling freaking DNP and the like to anorexics and bulemics on other boards.... the list goes on and on. My goodness, there is enough drama behind the scenes on elite at any given moment to make anyone run off screaming. What ANYONE hopes to accomplish by making the burden more difficult on admin by purposely defying the rules is beyond me.

i don't have a good answer for you, except that if we know there's a rule, the mods will tell you.
velvett recently made a thread regarding the sea creature rule. stupid as it is (and it is), it's still a rule.
we've made it clear that N****er won't be tolerated, same as C*nt. it's not a matter of any mod or admin being personally offended by it, it's just a matter of it being offensive words.

Eh. I understand where you're coming from but it's still impossible for us to all decode all the mystery with the lack of communication. I left my captain decoder ring on in my desk in the 2nd grade.

For example:

1) One day Cunt was put on some 'auto' change list where it was censored. There was no communication to this effect. I noticed it, posted about it wondering if it was a flaw - bam Banned. No notice, nothing. Communication to other mods / admins was purposely blocked and altered.

2) I put both cunt and nigger in this thread in type. I am still here. Not saying I don't wanna be, but that defines arbitrary.

3) c00per posts a fly picture with Lestat / Pick3, Gambino uses it as avatar - banned. Sure he put it up like 10x, but why not just PM him and say don't do it?

4) What all the mods might not only tolerate but laugh at may garner attention from an admin who bans with no warning, then talking to another admin they are completly puzzled as to why and in fact take your side.

Customers of the site shouldn't be victims of unwritten, unclear, arbitary rules and or infighting amongst admins / mods.

Not trying to be difficult but a little bit of communicatin would go along way....
