Mc Donald's Big Mac

cant even begin to go into how this meal ruins you from the inside out.

dont think of the caloric part, those are just numbers. think of the cholesterol and grease you are ingesting. its so bad for you.

i would venture to say this pwo meal actually detracted from all of your efforts in the gym.

there are studies coming out now that say exercise has very little to do with body composition change and way more to do with caloric intake. i have read a few but like all studies take them with a grain of salt. if you are serious about training, watch what you eat. that brings results.

i make the mac sauce once in a while to throw on my burgers. it is some good shit.

Fuck it bro Im 14, alot of people have reccomended to me getting mcdonalds post workout

Personally, I wouldn't recommend, but its not as bad as people are making out.

The only study comparing whole milk and skim milk on isocaloric formulations PWO (which means the whole milk had less protein) convincingly said. See Is It Necessary to “Spike Insulin Post-workout? | Kelly Frankson DOT COM (I can't actual journal, but have seen it before):

"Elliot and colleagues compared the effect of fat-free milk, whole milk, and a higher dose of fat-free milk (to match the calories of the whole milk) taken 60 minutes post-resistance exercise.24 Whole milk was superior for increasing net protein balance. Interestingly, the calorie-matched dose of fat free milk containing 14.5g protein, versus 8.0g in the whole milk (an 81% advantage), but still got beaten. The investigators speculated over the possible mechanisms behind the outcome (insulin response, blood flow, subject response differences, fat content improving nitrogen retention), but end up dismissing each one in favor of concluding that further research is necessary to see if extra fat calories ingested with an amino acid source will increase muscle protein synthesis. Lingering questions notwithstanding, post-workout milkfat was the factor that clinched the victory – at least in overnight-fasted subjects."

Edit: reference is Elliot TA, et al. Milk ingestion stimulates net muscle protein synthesis following resistance exercise. Med Sci Sports Exerc. 2006 Apr;38(4):667-74.

The reality is many prescribed PWO formulations (dex; WMS) haven't actually been supported by science.

Indeed, needto posted a study comparing honey and dex, and dex didn't win despite honey containing 50% of the "evil" fructose.

540 calories, 260 carbs, 29 grams of fat, 25 grams of protein.

So, they got one of these Mc Donald's right next to my gym. 3.75 for two of these big macs.

I've been getting the 2 for a few days now everytime after i lift and eat it for a PWO meal.

I KNOW its bad. I KNOW you dont want fats like this after working out.

I need someone to verbally kick my ass and tell me to stop doing this. While you're at at explain to me why I shouldn't drink beer and eat all around shitty.

I get good calories in, 4 - 5k with high protein...But I'll admit my diet has gotten bad lately.

If anyone is bored, verbally kick my ass please.

THANKS

you could just do what b fold the truth said he has done and make 1 lb of ground beef and mix it with some brown rice and chicken noodle soup and throw it in a thermos. thats a ton of carbs and protein right there.

i have to admit i hit up mcdonalds for a classic grilled chicken and a double cheeseburger often...35 grams fat 50 protein prob 75 carbs i dont eat the top of the chciken bun...better then starving

Those people who recommended it do not know what they are talking about. I suggest never taking diet advice from them again.

a young skinny guy with a super high metab. who is trying to build miscle will need to eat foods similar to this they want to gain. high cal, fat, carb, prot all in one little meal. sometimes its the only way.
