there are different types of women as there are different types of men. to generalize about either isn't going to work.
I know tons of asshole guys that I want no part of, and I know plenty of women that are like what you say, and again, I just walk away from them.

there are many times on this board that I've seen people continually bash men/women as doing XYZ, when in reality, they are only seeing this b/c those are the types that you are hanging out with - if you don't like what you are seeing, perhaps you need to hang out with different people.
if you say that you are in fact not ever meeting any other types, perhaps you need to find new ways to meet people.

all in all, this world takes all kinds, and to say that some groups does this or that, while it may be valid for a particular case that you observed, it is by no means the rule.

Very true. You can't apply any of this stuff as an absolute truth. But I think that once you get some life experience under your belt, even you 20-somethings , you can't help but notice certain patterns of human behavior. And from that, you derive certain opinions, attitudes, etc. I don't think any intelligent person could conclude that "all women are like this" and "all men do that." But when you've seen the same things over and over in your experience, you can't help but form some opinions. It's human nature.

I'm only 25, but yes, I've seen all kinds. I certainly know many of the country club competetive people - men and women. gotta be better than the Jones' next door.

seen smart meatheads, dumb meatheads, scary stalkers, weird creepy quiet people (hmmm, that might be me).

but I can't really say that there are enough parallels other than saying there are many types.
I can certainly agree saying some of those types are annoying as all fuck - but likely they will find me just as annoying.

I have more male friends than female friends and my male friendships have stood the *course of time* not to mention many boy & girlfriends later. I generally prefer guy friends to girl friends because I like to do typically *boy* things. I don't need a girl friend to help with my clothes, hair, make-up blah blah blah - if I have a question I will find someone in that field and ask them which leads me back to my males friend because they will give me an honest answer/ judgment upon my choices.

Women are competitive for the most part (not all but many) but I have to say all my female friends have always been pretty hot, hell, even I like looking at them. My college gal pals were all talented stunning women but over four year’s competition and cattiness broken down most of the friendships.

The pretty woman vs. the not so pretty - that doesn't hold true, pretty women don't always surround themselves by others that they don't feel as a threat - the really confident and attractive ones will attract there own kind and women who feel less attractive will tend to (sometimes) migrate to someone they wish to emulate and sometimes it’s the other way around.

Male / female friendships - they usually happen after the guy realizes he's not getting into her pants. Why else would he want to get to know her? That's not entirely true; hopefully as we mature we can find more interest in the opposite sex than fucking. There are men out there that I simply admire and enjoy them for their humor, character and man-ness. (That's not to say I haven't come to meet men that I would want just to lay back and shut up... )

I don't believe there to be one correct answer or theory on this topic as people vary, there disposition and motives also vary.

I know a couple girls that have no friends. I mean none. All they have is their boyfriends or maybe a relative they hang out with.

Perhaps you could remind them that to have a friend you must be a friend.

I think a majority of the time a male friend wouldn't mind fucking his female friend if the occassion was brought up. If a guy is friends with a girl I'm sure there is a little bit of attraction. Guys have some self esteem too and to hang out with a chick we think is ugly or unattractive completely would make us look bad. Just another thought...

very true, but sadly some people don't think as much for other people's feelings.

Another point is how many girls that have been considered best friends get into a huge arguement and never speak again. This happens a lot more then with guys.
