Decem-you were in the Marine Corps?

I was taking nite school and this tank from a nat'l guard unit a few blocks down went on a rampage in the nearby neighborhood. didn't see the actual carnage, but saw lots of the crushed cars, and the aftermath... that was almost ten years ago.

I was about 1/2 mile behind a head on collision. A guy was passing on a hill and a curve and met another car head on. One car had 4 passengers and the other that was passing only had the one driver and he was drunk. The 4 passenger car, the driver and the girl beside him in the front seat were up under the dash and obviously dead. The backseat passenger behind the driver was alive but I don't know how. He was bleeding pretty bad. His girlfriend beside him was beat up pretty bad and she died while I was waiting on the paramedics. I knew all of the people in the car with the four passengers.

The drunk lived and had barely anything wrong with him.

It's sad when I think about because it haunts me to this day. That is why I despise people who drink and drive.

This disgusts me beyond words.... If you could have gotten away with it, would you have killed the driver? I would execute him on the spot if I was able.

This accident happened 21 years ago(Damn...I can't believe it has been that long!)

You know, I have thought about this accident to this day and I believe at the time, I could have done some serious damage to him. The one thing that disgusted me the most was he was expressionless and had a severe lack of emotions through the whole thing after the cops, ambulance, coroner and others who arrived shortly afterwards. The passenger(in the four passenger car) that survived was the brother of my best friend at the time of the accident. He was very fortunate but it took him a couple of years to fully heal from the accident.

He wound up getting 20 years for what he had done. I wish he had gotten a life sentence but the drunk driving laws were really screwy then and longer sentences were not the norm.
